I don't think he is that big of a project, I think he could come in a bring defense and energy day one. I do think his offense will be very limited year one until his shot and handles get a whole lot better.

you know what? you're right.....my mistake....he's a 3 year project.....in all seriousness though i don't see the appeal of Harkless....just another player who can't create for himself.....got enough of those...now if we had a half-way decent playmaker to set him up then i would be okay with it...but in our regard those come in short supply

Fast forward to 3:40. The drill is, you get 1 minute to make 2 threes from each of the 5 spots around the arc. Ideally you get all the way around in 1 minute. Can anyone guess how Wroten did? Even a little scarier, they pulled a stat on 'shots with his feet set' in which he shot 12.5% on the year. Even a half hearted NBA scouting report will tear this kid apart. Go under every screen, if he gets to the rim just hack him because he can't shoot free throws, and he's even worse shooting off a pass so his defender will just camp in help side/double dwight with every touch.

Can't shoot NBA 3 and we knew that (but I wasn't expecting him to be that bad). However, mechanics are not too bad, but he tends to jump either towards the basket or fade away, shooting off balance.

Taylor is one of the better SF defenders in the draft and very polished and ready to go. Not sure why you are that much higher on a project like Harkless

I know people love hm and think he has alot of upside, but ill be honest, ill be surprised if he goes in the 1st round. Only way i would take him is if we got a 2nd 1st rounder at the end of the round and we signed a starting caliber PG, and even then i would be worried about it

Taylor imo is kind of a maxed out player, I don't really see him getting much better then he is right now. I do think he will be a solid defender and good spot up shooter in the nba but not much more then that. I like Harkless better because he has a higher potential and could be an elite defender and slasher.

Mason never had that court vision, range, quickness in the key or handle. Mason was just a brute force.

As much as I wanted to pass on Kendall Marshall. We may want to look into trading up for him at 16. The PG position doesn't look too promising next year. BJ Young is a combo guard. Ryan Harrow...yuck, Ian Miller? Rolling my eyes! Next good PG class is in 2014 or 2015 draft. Andrew Harrison, Nate Britt,Kris Dunn,Kasey Hill. That's hoping these guys pan out to be as advertised in a year or two of college.

i only know of him from that article, but he sounds like a great prospect. i like that he's happy to defer when needed, but also happy to rise to the occasion. and the fact that he's a SF is ideal for us since we need a major upgrade on the wings. not mention that he seems to have a good attitude, which i think would sit well with Hennigan and co.

i have a strong hunch he'll turn out to be a Danny Granger of this draft. actually, i have a hunch there will be quite a few prospects that surprise in this draft. PJ3 is another. most of all, i think Drummond is going to be a steal wherever he's taken, because i think whichever team takes him will invest heavily in his development - and they'll see strong dividends for it within a few years. in a few years time, Davis and Drummond coming from the same draft will be like Shaq and Zo coming out of the same draft.

Pffft...most of these guys are projects in some way shape or form...hell even Anthony davis is a project. There aren't many rookies that can come in and make an immediate impact especially a 19th pick. Harkless may not have a consistent jumpshot now but his mechanices are nice and i think he'll improve in that area very quickly. Dude was playing out of position as a pf/c at st. Johns because they lacked bigs. At the very least he'd just as good a defender as Taylor ..I think better....no doubt about it.

I wonder how White will adapt to playing off ball. No NBA team is going to run their entire offense through him the way Iowa State did. Can become an effective role player?

Well we sort of want a guy to be ball dominant. Right now we have a bunch of jump shooters on board. My only dig at Royce is his free throw shooting. I'd take him over

Preference of picks.
1.Austin Rivers (If available)
2.Kendall Marshall (If available)
3. Perry Jones (If Available)
4. Royce White
5.Moe Harkless if 4 above are gone.
6. Find late first round Trade partner for 19th pick and swap Jeff Taylor with a dude they want. Plus pick up a future first or 2nd round pick.

i'm in love with harkless. i really hope we get him. i honestly think 5 years down the road he'll be the 2nd best player from this draft after anthony davis.

Any particular reasons why?

Man I completely agree with that. I think Royce White has such a unique set of skills, he'll be solid. Even with the anxiety disorder, I'd still take the risk. Might throw Teague in as my #5. I'm a little disappointed in the talent we've brought into the workouts thus far. Does anyone know if the guys projected in the 10-18 range have simply declined our workout invites?
