Please, no! I hope Danny stays away from Westbrook unless he has a PG in mind to start, when Rondo's gone.

Don't get me wrong I like the Thunder, great guys, will be around for a long time, but I just don't think Westbrook is a PG, imo, if he adds slashing to his game, he's a legit SG in this league..
Good assessment:

OKC problem is on the bench :( there's no reason we should be playing defence like that.

Rondo would be amazing with the passes but who's he going to pass to? A durant that sometimes still can't establish his position? Or Ibaka will get some consistency ? Perkin is what perkin is on offence.

Russ for Rondo and 1st round pick

Let's take away one of three people that can score on this team. Sounds like a recipe for success. Durant triple teamed while teams dare Rondo/Thabo/Ibaka/Perk to shoot. That's good basketball.

Exactly. I really am not expecting any changes this offseason... Only thing I could MAYBE see is letting go of Perkins, but even that I think they would wait until the following season right before Serge/Harden extensions kick in.

Thanks but no thanks. Westbrook isn't going anywhere until he decides he wants to move on.

He was the best Thunder player on the floor during the series. Heck he even out rebounded Durant who was the teams best rebounder.

Westbrook put up 27pts, 6.4reb, 6.6 dimes and 2.2TO's

Durant had 30.6pts, 6.0rebs, 2.2 dimes and 3.8TO's

Durant did shoot the ball better especially from 3 but Westbrook wasn't bombing away.

Why do you think that this team would have any inclination what so ever to trade one of the few guys who showed up in the finals?

no chance. OKC needs to upgrade scoring on the front line. RW is only going to get better.

I love Westbrook as a Celtics fan, that said, Rondo would put your offense in overdrive. He would get Ibaka, harden and Durant easier baskets. My big thing, watching you guys, is that OKC becomes a 1 on 1, individual offensive team. A lot of your scoring is Westbrook or Durant just flat out beating guys with NBA moves. You guys are great at that.

But, what Rondo could do to Durant, Harden and Ibaka is make them get easy shots. He would help your bench be more effective when they play. If you have guys who can finish around the rim, but can't create offense, Rondo is the guy you need.

Rondo needs finishers. He averages 11 APG per game on a team that doesn't have any great finishers outside of Pierce, who is well pass his prime, and a team that can't run with him because of their legs. They are a great shooting team, and highly efficient, but just don't get enough shots up. That wouldn't be a problem in OKC with your legs, up tempo style and rebounding ability. Ibaka and Harden would thrive with Rondo, and he would heavily help Durant's efficiency.

It would be Showtime Lakers style with Rondo out there. He can't score like Westbrook, but he is a better PG than Westbrook and makes other players better. Not as dominant scoring, but an other worldly distributor.

He sets tempo and tone, it's incredible what he can do in a game. He's not a 1 on 1 scorer, I think of him more as a conductor in an orchestra. The better the instruments, the better he can organize it and make it run efficiently.

I don't think our Iso is purely all on Westbrook. it's a system that encouraged by Brooks.

Since Boston actually run a system and Ray/Pierce/Garnett/Bass all need to be set up now, it's why Rondo can get 11 APG ( Talent + system)

As it is, Durant and Harden can get points or become ball handler themselves, no point to get a pure ball handler to bring the ball up every single time.

Boston has been a very good fit for Rondo and he has taken advantage of the opportunities provided to become a very good player. It will be interesting to see if Ainge and Rivers choose to rebuild around Rondo when the time comes.

As for the trade, I'm not interested in putting the ball in Rondo's hands and waiting for him to make everyone else better. I like the organic way in which the team is growing together as a group. I have yet to see a stagnation in that growth and would like to continue to see the growth uninterrupted by messing around with the core.
