Chances of another name change?

With the new mascot being a Knight, maybe they will consider at some point in the future being the Brooklyn Knights? Don't know why they stayed with Nets.

Brooklyn Knights, Brooklynites. I think they went with it for word play, I would say clever but it really isn't.

Honestly, I could see this as foreshadowing, maybe trying to ease people into a name change. I still doubt it, but maybe. It wouldn't be for a few years I guess.

At the same time it makes little sense with all the marketing they're doing with Nets, then again, most of the stuff just has a B, or Brooklyn or New York on it.

I'm even thinking if we bomb out and lose Deron, etc., that if things go awful the 1st couple years, they then change the name trying to reinvent themselves.

I thought Brooklyn Knights had some kind of trademark/patent to it that the team didn't have?

I actually think down the line they will drop the Nets and just call themselves Brooklyn.

Think about it, every team has a name after where their actually based but in soccer they just have the area they play in (generally speaking) as their name.

Would it be that extreame to just be called Brooklyn?

PS Theres no way this happens anytime soon due to the logo having Nets across the front and the branding effort that has been made already but if you replaced the Nets above the ball in the shield logo with Brooklyn..... it isn't that crazy

Plus lets be real, the team is Brooklyn with a tiny Nets beside it because Brooklyn is the name now

I highly doubt we'll see a name change for the forseeable future. It would be tremendously poor business planning, and from all accounts it appears that competent businessmen are finally running this ship.

If they changed names in a few years, it'd be so obvious and embarrassing how the Nets would be willing to basically do anything just to be relevant and talked about.

If you want to change the name, do it once and be done with it. They had the opportunity before and they didn't do it. Now, they need to stick with it.

lol i dont think we will ever be the knights... were we ever the NJ Fox's? look at half the league, a lot of mascots have nothing to do with the teams nickname.

I have thought about that before and I agree it would be awesome. Also, I think reinventing themselves BC Brooklyn would have been awesome, ala FC Barcelona and lots of soccer teams worldwide.

I like the white. The black looks stupid, though.

They look like a WNBA jersey, or some **** a poor down South or Midwest high school team ordered out of EastBay.

Exactly why not be unique and first in the NBA. The brand would be unreal, normal Brooklyn font could be looked upon as repping the basketball team no matter what apparell it was on and it would just be win win all around BUT like I said it will never happen.
