I'm assuming you don't actually advocate that, since New Orleans is about to take Davis and doesn't need another PF on his rookie contract.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

Err, Cleveland actually is who I was thinking would give us good value for Williams. New Orleans just came out, I'm tired. But Kaman/Davis/Williams isn't a bad idea while figuring out if Davis/Willams can coexist if you get him that cheap.

But no, I don't really advocate that I just think trading assets for cap space + pick then overpaying someone ourselves is better than trading those assets to an already overpaid player.

Usually I would take this in a nano-second and would run but his injury kinda scares me.

I'm not liking how Deng keeps playing with that torn ligament in his wrist. I think he said he is getting surgery after the Olympics which puts him out most of next year I believe.

In a way I can understand him. It's the Olympic Games where Britain rarely competes at. Not to mention they're playing in front of their own fans. Another factor could be that he wants to show appreciation to the country that gave him shelter after fleeing from war/genocide ridden Sudan.

I can totally see why Deng would rather postpone the surgery, especially considering how Chicago's next year will be mediocre at best.

If we traded for him, couldn't we not let him play? Dick move but we could get him to have sugery sooner.

This sounds crazy and probably is unrealistic but I read today on hoopshype that Chicago is looking to deal Deng and/or Noah for cap space and a draft pick so they can extend Asik and Gibson.

Williams, Pekovic, Ridnour, Darko, Miller, Webster & #18 for Deng, Noah, Korver
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=7vfflpc

Chicago's new Depth Chart:
Rose/Ridnour/Lucas
Rip Hamilton/Brewer
D Williams/#18?/Butler
Boozer/Gibson
Pekovic/Asik

Minnesota's new Depth Chart:
Rubio/Barea/Lee
Korver/Lee/Ellington
Deng/W Johnson
Love/ FA
Noah/ FA

I don't necessarily LOVE this trade for either team and think we would still have a big hole at SG but a core of Rubio, Love, Deng, and Noah would no doubt be a competitive playoff team for years.

Obviously that's the case, but Deng isn't a #2 option on offense, he can't really create his own shot...and he's owed $13,365,000 $14,275,000 the next 2 seasons.

As of last season, when Williams was a 20 year old rookie without an offseason or practice time? Sure. Deng was a better player. Next year or the year after, etc? Who knows. What we do know is that Deng is owed almost 30 million dollars over the next 2 years, that Deng is not a star player (that team is elite because of Derrick Rose and Thibodeau), and that Deng is likely not going to get much better than he is now.

Plus he just had that injury and might miss at least half of next season.

Here's a thought of a trade I think makes sense: Deng for Iguodala. Think both guys would be better fits on their new teams. Bulls dont save money and wouldn't be tanking, but I think Iguodala would be a good fit with Rose when healthy.

Or could we stretch it into a three way, with us getting Iguodala and Chicago getting Williams, Webster, and Miller?
