Just remember; before anyone says a trade is crazy, unrealistic, impossible; remember last year.
Sacramento traded BACK three spots to get John Salmons.
Anything is possible on draft night. Things are hectic and teams are trying to improve. Hopefully ChoNet will prevent us from making mistakes that other teams make.

I think that you and I know the same people that once met that person who possibly personified his place in the in's and out's of what's what.

CHA IN: #7, #14, #21, #30, #35, Stephen Curry
CHA OUT: #2, #31, DeSagana Diop
Instead of putting our eggs into one basket, we have the chance to get several players. Drummond, White, Harkless, Ross, and many others will be available to us. Curry is the hometown son. We give up expiring contracts and our two picks.
BOS IN: #2, #16, Kevin Martin, DeSagana Diop, Klay Thompson
BOS OUT: #21, #22, #51, Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo
Boston enters full-fledged rebuilding mode. Instead of having Rondo play through the rebuilding effort, they can acquire some expiring contracts, a young talent in Thompson, and move up to #2 and #16 from #21 and #22.
HOUSTON IN: Paul Pierce, #36
HOUSTON OUT: #14, #16, Kevin Martin
Houston solidifies themselves as a playoff team in 2012-2013 with Paul Pierce. The asking price is high but the time to win is now. Plus McHale will love the chance to coach a longtime Celtic. Could probably contribute choice of Patterson/Morris to Boston if Boston needs it.
GSW IN: #22, #31, #51, Rajon Rondo
GSW OUT: #7, #30, #35, #52, Stephen Curry, Dorell Wright, Klay Thompson
GSW does the same as Houston. Rondo - Lee - Bogut will be an entertaining trio if healthy. They give up a lot but Rondo will make an immediate impact for the new ownership.
SAC IN: Dorell Wright, #52
SAC OUT: #36
Sacramento acquires a decent wing on a decent contract and a draft pick to play with. Wright is likely better than any wing they could draft at #36 and he played for Keith Smart.
Realistic? Fair? Who knows.
I don't want Curry. Not that I don't like him, it's just that he can never stay healthy. Players who you count on to be a major piece then they get hurt every two weeks really kills all your momentum. If I were GSW I would be looking to dump him, just not on us.

Yea, I understand your concerns. My thinking is we bring him in to play as a reserve. 20-25 minutes a night like his father did for many many years.
I don't think you trade for Curry to replace Kemba. Same reason GSW made a huge gamble (and likely mistake) by throwing all their eggs at Curry, Lee, and Bogut. If those three are healthy, it's a decent group. If not ... well, I hope they love top 10 draft picks.

If the rumour is true and GSW are looking to sign Roy, then I guess they are throwing caution to the wind and are hoping to win now with some high risk injured players.
Talk about risky. Will be interesting to see how they go, would love to see Bogut healthy again.
In regards to the Cleveland trade, I get the feeling its probably been on the table for a while but Cho was trying to see what else he can get or who else he can get rid of.

The problem with GSW is they don't have cap space. You have 18m+ going to Richard Jefferson and Biedrins. Well, Jefferson is not that overpaid but Biedrins is suffering from Tyrus Thomas syndrome. He was a solid 10/10 guy at one time.
Curry - Roy - Draft Pick - Lee - Bogut
That's not a bad team if everyone is healthy. Might as well complete the all-hospital squad by signing Greg Oden.

I am a big Roy fan but at this point I am not sure that he is a starter in this league. I think he will help someone coming off of the bench.

agree.
Curry - Klay - Wright - Lee - Bogut with Roy, Dicky, Draft pick and Biedrens.
Thats enough to keep them in mediocrity for years.

Re: Trading the #2 pick - dicussion (merged)
Forget that trade I said earlier.
Let's say Boston trades Pierce to Houston for the #14, #16, and Kevin Martin.
Would you accept Cho dealing #2 for #14, #16, #21, #22, and #52?
Or it doesn't even have to be that. I guess the real question is: if we trade back, would you prefer one top 10 pick or several lower picks spread out? Would you value, say #4 and #24, over several lower first-round draft picks (like #14, #16, #21, and #22)?

I could also picture #Bobcats switching picks with No. 3 Washington for a second-round pick.

So...if the deals are Cleveland (4 & 24 for our #2) and Washington (3 & 32 for #2), which is your choice?
I still like Cleveland...especially if we can pawn off a contact to cement the deal.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Most likely. I'm still holding out for some left-field pick. I don't have a problem with Barnes. Fits a need and is a solid player. Press should have fun with that pick.

If we are able to trade down and pick up Barnes I would be happy. He fits our needs and will be a good 2nd or 3rd option on a good team. We have another lottery bound season and try to make a run at some big name free agent next summer.
I would love it if we were able to pick up Moultrie somehow by packaging 24+31 or whatever picks we end up with.

Looks like Bonnell is back on the bath salts again. Is he an idiot? We're not doing that just to get a magical second round pick. That's embarrassing he would write something like that. This isn't the NFL. Good lord I have to send this dummy an email.
