Youk did give a lot to this team, his last fews years he was far from my favorite player tho. I do agree awesome way to send him off.

When Youk came up, I was not super high on him. But it didn't take me long to appreciate his passiona and grit leading to me liking him.
The last few seasons it was frustrating that he was so injury prone. But at the same time he gracefully stepped aside for AGon and moved to other corner of the infield, and never sulked or let his ego get in the way. I love that about Youk, I believe he was very much a team first guy (at least he used to be.)
But yeah, that farewell was awesome, almost like it was scripted even. It was good for the fans, and great for Youk.
