Charlie Manuel has been suspended one game for his nose-to-nose argument with plate umpire Bob Davidson earlier this week.

The incident occurred during Tuesday night's game.

Davidson also received a one-game suspension for what Major League Baseball called "repeated violations" in how umpires are supposed to handle situations.

The bolded part impresses me. No way does David Stern ever do that to one of his referees. Officials need to be held accountable too. They sometimes seem to have as big of an ego as the players do.

BOSTON -- The Boston Red Sox have traded infielder Kevin Youkilis to the Chicago White Sox for utilityman Brent Lillibridge and right-hander Zach Stewart.


The AL Central-leading White Sox, who also received cash in the deal, have been looking for a third baseman with Brent Morel plagued by back problems.

Yeah, they pretty much just gave Youk away. I feel like Theo would have at least gotten some kind of value for him other than slashing costs.

This seems to be the White Sox' MO. They, along with the Angels, like to absorb big salaries owed to fallen stud players trying to get some value out of them.

The fact that we're probably almost out of it coupled with Hart playing well at 1B makes it not worth it to me.
