Re: Rockets Trying To Move Up Draft
If you take Dwight on that team instead of Dalembert, from the point when Martin/Lowry were out of it, that team alone was a middle-of-the-pack team. If you add, Dwight to do it, holy ****.
They'd be a late playoff seed, but a ridiculously hard match up.
Klowry tweeted, "it's been real", FYI, haven't read the whole thread. But if Dwight is coming here, it means we need to acquire another star to keep him content.
Would the Rockets have enough cap room to sign Deron Williams, if so, would they do so at the expense of Goran?

Lowry is a glorified Bayless...just with more minutes. We dont need him. Bayless is a bigger and a better shooter. 40% FG? No wonder they want to trade him. NOT TO MENTION that Bayless is actually 2 years younger than Lowry...
*This pic is suppose to have bayless beside lowry but its too big so you cant see him.
Those stats include games where he played little minutes, bench minuets, etc. due to injury.
As a regular season started, for let's say 34-35mpg, Lowry can get you 15/7.5 with the 2nd best set of intangibles of any starting PG in the league(behind Rondo). You're talking great clutch shooting, relentless, excellent rebounding, aggressively defensively.
Whoever acquires Lowry will fall in love with him. He's not the "talent" of any star player, but he's like the present-day Chauncey Billups(of his prime time).

Lowry to TO for 8
14/16 to SAC for 5
5 and 8 for Howard
c'mon, the odds of all of that happening are slim at best. If I had to bet I'd say HOU is still picking 14 and 16 come draft night.
the odds are even more slim when you consider houston couldnt trade #5 and #8 for D12 without aquiring either a third pick in this draft or one enxt year as the ents hold the rights to their 2013 selection
On draft night, isn't that rule vindicated ONCE the player has been chosen with that pick, and what matters is then the 2013 draft and 2014 draft(they do have that pick).
I don't think the Rockets can trade #14, until their actual selection. 16? Yes.

Just like "Houston is likely to be active at the trade deadline" really kicks off that season.
Ah, but this year you have to take into account that there are at least 3 teams in the top ten who've all said that they're open to shopping their pick, and that Houston has a nice trade piece in Lowry.

No offense, but definetely it's not a problem to be worse than the '38 year old nash', because this old guy had one of the best seasons of his career and is a top 5 PG of all time that never ages

Kyle Lowry as a starter last season (38 games):
15.9ppg (41.8%/38.8%/86.5%)
7.2apg
5.3rpg
1.8spg
Let us not forget that Lowry is also a plus defender.

Well at least we're not Detroit!

Hopefully, Deron is smart enough to wait until the fate of Howard is determined before he makes his own decision on whether to go with Nets or Mavs or any team that gets Howard.

I am pretty sure he has mind made up and doesn't want to deal with finding a new place (has one in Brooklyn and Dallas is hometown) and dealing with more than 2 teams in free agency.
If Houston gets Dwight they should think about getting Nash or believe in Dragic.

Don't forget we have a cabinet full of productive players on cheap contracts that can also be traded. Morey knows what he's doing (Boston Big 3).
What does Morey have to do with Boston's Big 3?
And "productive players on cheap contracts" don't equate to top 10 lottery picks and/or superstars like Dwight.

I think the fate of Howard would be quicker than Deron's if these teams are trying to consummate a trade between draft selections.

You think Ainge constructed that himself?
Look was working with him, and look at what the Celtic's organization did in regard to value of picks, gathering assets, and moving them. There's a similar trend in this. It's like saying Tom Thibadeau had no influence on what the Celtics have done defensively for the past 5 years, since it was only 1 year he was with them.
Know your background, Morey was affiliated with the Celtics. A lot of his principles is how and why they are where they are. Now if Leslie Alexander, of the Houston Rockets(owner), would grant Morey a year to tank we'd see even more similarities in a sense of a high draft pick and more assets. Much like the glowing reviews Presti gets, people forget he spent four years in the dwellar including three top 4 picks.

And Thibadeau was with BOS more than 1 year. You should get your priorites straight. Thibadeau is a guy that warrants doing research on, not Morey.

How is that ignorant? There's a lot of executives in the league that haven't accomplished enough for someone to care about their background. If he hasn't done anything, why would I care about his background?
If I'm not mistaken, his greatest accomplishment as a GM is getting to the 2nd round. Wow, tell me all about his great success story.
