Per David Aldridge's morning tip on NBA.com, looks like the Bobcats are gonna go with Robinson, Wizards will either pick Beal or Barnes, and Cavs will pick whoever is left.

Cavs are trying to trade #4, #24 and Varejao but no one in front of them seems to be biting.

I'm not down for trading are pick if we did have to trade it be with cavs third pick for 4 and 24 pick. Just to add another lottery pick but that would not make sense on are part to trade away the pick that may land us Beal.

...but if they added Antwan Jamison...

^ If the Wizards aren't actually targeting Beal (which is certainly possible), then I wouldn't mind them getting back Cleveland's #24 to move down one spot and still get the guy they wanted all along. In this scenario, I'd be assuming MKG or Barnes.

I think the Cavs are willing to trade their picks b/c they have very high 2nd round picks, I think #33 and #34. They could just as easily find two rotational guys, and still get Beal or Kidd-Gilchrist.

I would have done this instead of trading for Okafor and Ariza. Varejao and #24 >> Okafor and Ariza. Maybe even throw Blatche in there and we would only move down a spot.

Would have made way more sense to wait until draft day when teams get desperate instead of doing stupid moves a week before. Ernie Grunfled...

But then Ernie would basically do that trade and shoot himself in the foot. The whole reason why Cleveland wants to trade is to get ahead of us and take Beal. So why would the Wizards help the Cavs in making that happen?

Then follow up with the Okafor-for-Kevin Martin deal?

Varejao runs through 2013-14, with a team option for '14-15 that we would obviously decline. Cuts 1 year off Blatche's deal, and gives us an actual on-court contributor. Wiz then draft Barnes or MKG. #24 & 32 hopefully net you a combination from Crowder, DLamb, Jenkins, Nicholson. I might even do the deal without the #24.

I really like Beal, but that looks like a great deal.

EDIT: You beat me to it, Sev! Although I'm not sure they take back Blatche. We could substitute Ariza and it still works. Or they can keep the #24. But I still doubt they'd take Blatche.

Why are we hitching our wagon to Beal? He's not a can't miss prospect by any stretch. Just because the Wizards FO foolishly showed their cards too early and are basically telling the rest of the league they "need" Beal doesn't mean that Beal is necessarily the right choice. I'd still take MKG over him personally, even if sorry-a** Ariza is here.

I prefer Beal, but I don't know that Ariza 100% rules out drafting MKG.

Even if MKG is the pick, there should be enough minutes for Ariza to "showcase" himself this year. Then maybe a slightly under MLE deal looks better than the last year on his current contract stuck behind a high lotto pick.

So far, neither Charlotte, Washington nor Sacramento (fifth) have had any interest, according to sources

So it doesn't sound like they are trying to trade up, but trying to deal Verajao+24 for a second pick in the high lottery. That changes the discussion dramatically IMO.

I don't think Ariza is that bad of a player. He's a very good defender and very athletic and can make some highlight dunks and he has improved on his jump shot.

Because they think that they can get equal value at a lower pick while adding another pick. Different opinions. Just because you disagree doesn't make it wrong.
