Joe+Josh for Hedo+JJ+Jrich+Duhon+Q? :P

they hired danny ferry, not otis smith... although unloading ALL of our bad contracts for jj and josh, sounds awesome lol... not happening

I know its hard, but thats the kind of deal someone will accept to get Joe's big contract. Although Duhon, Q, Hedo are bad contracts, they will be expired in 2 seasons, JJ is an expiring and Jrich can be traded for a pick, IMO. I dont know what they want, but they would rebuild in two years this way.

It's becoming very clear to me now that Dwight Howard won't be wearing a Magic uniform in October. Hennigan has come in and made it clear that he wants to clean house and start a new era of Magic basketball with no traces of the previous reign.

Dwight has been MIA, doing his best to stay clear of Orlando, and Hennigan has stated that he won't be hiring a coach until after the draft. To me, this SCREAMS that the Magic will try to move Dwight this summer. If there were plans for him to stay, don't you think Hennigan would have met with him and talked about potential coaches? That's what any team who values their franchise player would do. It's also important to have a coach in place for the draft so the team is able to select players to fit the system that will be run. In our case, it looks like we don't want to sell a potential coach on our team as it's currently constructed only to have it be blown up in a matter of weeks and go from "contender" status to "rebuilding" status.

But most importantly, these firings of Twardzik, Foyle, and scouts tells me that not only is Hennigan interested in working with a blank canvas, he also has some cold-bloodedness in him, which is a trait of shrewd businessmen. It tells me that he won't succumb to Dwight's trade requests and give in to sending him to New Jersey. Rather, I see Hennigan wanting to ship Howard out ASAP to the team offering the best package in return, wherever that may be (OKC, Houston, etc.). I also think he's savvy enough to understand that trading Howard to an Eastern Conference team could result in a tarnished legacy, should Dwight's new team pester the Magic in the future, so I see Rob doing everything he can to send Dwight west.

^^^^Actually, I don't believe Hennigan stated that we would searching for a coach after the draft. It was a rumor that said that...

Firstly, when did Hennigan say he won;t hire a coach until after the draft? He actually said the process to get a coach begins immediately. time might not allow him to do it before the draft but that's not pointing to anything really.

While i to think it's a possibility that Dwight at the draft, there is no evidence in the least even suggesting this were the case.

Seems like Rob has a plan, probably why he got hired. Now I guess we will find out if his plan includes trying to coddle Dwight or shipping him out to mold his own team

The guy that drafted Greg Monroe, Brandon Knight, Rodney Stuckey and Austin Daye meets the guy that had a hand in drafting Westbrook, Harden, and Ibaka

JJ/BBD/Hedo/J-Rich/19th for Joe Johnson and Josh Smith. Saves ATL a lot of money long term with JJ and Hedo expiring.
