But see, here's the problem, Hedo and J Rich are getting high in age, and their contracts don't warrant their play at all, plus if we are going to trade for someone of that age we would need to trade for a player with a reputation that people know, such as Ray Allen or Kevin Garnett, our team needs to have a marketable player that puts more fans in the seats, so if someone is going to be old and making serious money but also underperforming, they need to get their money's worth out of that player or players so the economy will offset their poor play. I hope this makes sense to you, we aren't the Laker's we can't just spend spend spend, we have to make FINANCIAL decisions that put us in an advantage or good position down the road. Example of a bad trade is Diop and Matt Carroll.

It is a bad contract for bad contract trade.

In the process you get our #19 pick & cash.

BTW you have to spend you cap room or get a financial penalty. At least this way you get out of Thomas's contract a year early and it gives you time to stock pile young talent and have a ton of cap space for 2014, instead of waiting for 2015 when Thomas's deal is done.

Ok well we send you the #19 pick and $3million cash.

SO the deal would be:

Orlando Sends: $3million Cash, #19 Pick, Hedo & Jrich

Bobats Send: Tyrus Thomas & Diop

what do the magic get out of this deal?

No, I understand that and it's not a totally crazy idea or anything, but I think we'd be trading for more money over less years. It's really a matter of what we think we can do in 2015 with thomas on the books or off the books, and that's so far away that it's hard to see the value, really.

We'll spend the cap room one way or another. I think they'd rather do it with rookies and signing vets instead of trading for really large contracts. I mean, we'd be locked up until 2014 waiting on Hedo and Jrich to expire. With Thomas, we'd still have enough financial flexibility to work around it, just not as much as we'd like.

And we could always amnesty Thomas. We couldn't do that with Hedo or Jrich.

How about we give you Thomas AND #31 AND a FUTURE second rounder for Richardson AND #19?

Now this is more reasonable. Thomas and Richardson's contracts are essentially equal with Richardson's ending 1 full year earlier. Though I'd like to keep 31 :(

AND when/if Dwight leaves, IF Thomas bulks up, you still have a pretty good defender and shot blocker and he's bit younger than Richardson.

Yeah, depending on their birthdays, we're talking one entering his prime and the other exiting, so about five or six years, is that considered "a bit"? Or did I say it out of context or something?

Even though J-Rich was one of my favorite players back in the day, I think I'd much rather just amnesty TT than pay J-Rich's contract. TT for J-Rich and 19 would change my mind though, but I have absolutely no reason to believe the Magic would do that.

Basically they get 2 years free of Richardson for Diop and Turk last year is half guaranteed he agreed to do it to get out of Toronto

So basically if they give us the 3 million it is equal salary

So J.Rich+Turk+#19
for Tyrus+Diop+2014 2nd is very fair and we should do it because it's not like MJ is paying almost all of his salary while losing 20+ million a year maybe if we had the brow and had revenue coming in then yeah, but we don't.

Magic do this trade then put Duhon+Davis into the Dwight trade and they are set after next year financially.

If Houston could flip their picks into #5 and trade Lowry to Raptors for #8

Houston trades #5/#8/Kevin Martin/Samuel Dalembert
Gets Dwight Howard/Glen Davis/Chris Duhon

Magic would be so much better
