He never said it was a rumor. It was just him thinking out loud what the magic "could" do.

Why can't we have a scoring PG that can get his own shot, as well as create for others, and pair him with a defensive minded SG like Thabo (Liggins)?

No, but it wouldn't be too hard to get it to match.

Maybe #19+JJ+Hedo for Monta+Gooden?

I feel like the fast pace to which Hennigan let go of most of the FO showed a sense of getting better personnel and a sense of confidence. It was interesting to see Hennigan get a great Asst GM very quickly, when it was sort of a lateral move for Perry. Like wow, of all spots let go... Asst GM is replaced so quickly and very well.. I think it sets the tone for the kind of people and the kind of total FO "process" Hennigan wants, and again, I don't think fans/Magic FO mind being understaffed for a time if it gets the best people in. Perry looks like the new #2 guy in charge of basketball operations.. What a huge upgrade to Twardzik, I liked Perry's drafting in Detroit and the way he seems to value toughness.

On the Rudolph speculation, I hope we do get Monta or even one of Iggy and Gay this summer. I think the reason why is, we won't really hurt or improve our 2013 cap space to go after another FA next summer anyways, if we trade right. JJ and #19 are incredibly great assets for a main offer, and Jameer, Ryan are great S/T'ables if all sides like it. I still have an eye for hopefully getting Chris Paul next summer, or if crazily enough, Deron shows serious interest in Orlando now, so getting Monta now would hurt both those scenarios. Would I pull the trigger on a Monta trade now though? If it still gave the Magic ~15mil in 2013 cap space, they should. We would have a better supporting cast with keeping some good Magic players and space to pick up more players next summer like Iggy, playoff vets, and maybe even a couple young role players. I'm imagining Monta being a much more dangerous go to scorer as he's driving down the court with our shooters on the wings and Dwight down low. And I still see Jameer around as a sort of 6th man and when workable as a small ball lineup, maybe that's something directly expressed to Jameer as he agrees to sign a 4-5 yr Magic deal that's backloaded and fully guaranteed to around 4 mil a year; 3.6 mil for next season. Jameer as a bench force would be lethal and is the exact guy that got BBD going to 19 and 9. Maybe Ryan is still here, maybe Harper surprises and is developed as a starter while BBD gets 28 mpg. Either way, the two non-all star spots would constantly be upgraded through drafting and savvy trading, in this case we'd push for draft steals to start/play alongside Monta/Iggy/Dwight, unless CP3 wants to join Monta/Dwight..

They might take that. Gooden and Hedo cancel each other out money wise.

Not sure, but I think Gooden has a year more than Hedo? If so, they save money in acquiring Hedo.

Sold. I like senior players late in the draft because they're solid and can contribute right away.

Gooden is owed 18 mil over the next 3 years. Hedo is owed 18 mil total if they cut him after next season.

Monta seems like an Otis type of guy, I dunno if an inefficient undersized 2 guard is what Rob has in mind. Then again, I'd trust Rob to do his best in trying to cover for Monta's deficiencies should he get him.
