Who here thinks we'd be better off with #5 & #8 over Dwight?

Dwight obviously will give us a better chance to win now, but unless we can pull in another star, too, I think he'll do what he's done to Orlando, but to us. And this time, will be less patient.

I trust Morey to make the right decisions at #5 & #8. We could pull in quite easily Perry Jones & Andre Drummond. Obviously a lot of risk, but a lot of potential too.

As our future lineup and it depends on Marcus Morris, etc. Parsons I think we should trade now, his value will NEVER be higher, and he's easily replacable. Plus, I think we should try to accommodate a sign & trade with Lee. He's valued league-wide, and IMO he's an average player.

I'm still debating on what would be better. The thing about picks is they're not guaranteed. We can talk all day about picks but its a lot more likely they don't end up as stars. I don't agree on trading parsons after how much growth he had after one year even though I do think people on this board overrated him. As far as lee goes it depends on the price, he's a lockdown defender/streaky but good offensive player, at the right price he's a GREAT backup and a decent starter...

true but cleveland isn't giving up 4 unless they package it with 24 and move up for the 2nd pick.

If we get Howard, do we have the cap room to pursue Deron? If so, Deron would definitely listen to us.

No way to tell, without knowing the pieces of the Howard trade.

BUT if we don't take back bad contracts as part of the Howard deal, and our amnesty in our back pocket, we have a ton of flexibility.

If we can't get rid of Luis, we could amnesty him....i believe Kmart and Dalembert are expiring deals so probably they can be moved in some way for other expirings(josh smith expiring)? we just need to find a way to clear cap room after getting howard. no way we take on hedu, davis, or jrich's contracts. Once we know what we are giving up for Howard, then we figure out the rest.

OKC, Heat, Spurs, Bos. 3-4 solid players and some of those solid players are superstars - rondo, lebron, durant, etc. We are throwing away our draft picks and decent players on one guy that's offensively challenged, not a very good plan. I'd rather take the OKC blueprint to rebuilding this team bc even if we bust we have some flexibility, not one player that bust or not, will probably leave after the next year.

Best way to get Williams IF you get Dwight is to try and get him in S&T. If he could get the max from Brooklyn and then get traded, this potentially works out for him AND Brooklyn (Brooklyn gets Dragic and some other pieces.)

I think getting the max deal AND playing with Howard would easily trump going to Dallas to play with Dirk.

I'm just not sure who else would be left on the team after those two trades.

I really don't understand why the Rockets would give up valuable assets for Howard. The resulting team wouldn't be a contender. And Howard has proven himself to be someone who can't lead a team and can't inspire.

Do it either way. We get and keep Deron and Howard or get Howard for one year of excitement and do a real rebuild after he bolts. Happy either way. I stand by my belief that Howard is going to Brooklyn and only Brooklyn. Also think Williams is staying in Brooklyn.

But then again if we manage to get two high lotto picks in the top 10 then I would not be against keeping them if it is clear that Williams stays in Brooklyn and keeping Howard is a pipedream which I do think it is.
