We then draft Drummond, Rivers and Marshall.

Happy days!

Lillard or Barnes at 5 Drummond at 8.

If you're Toronto, you would give up your 8th pick for the 16th and 18th?

You gotta throw in Martin or Scola to sweeten the pot. Only way to budge. Id say Martin, 14 and 16 for number 2. Jordan is stupid enough to do that, right? Then Lowry for 5. So we get 2, 5, and 18 from Houston.

Period, end of story.

I like the idea of robbing Houston for all there worth if Dwight wont commit, 2 top 10 pics and another 1st plus cap relief in the expirings of KMart and Dalembert are nice, grab Drummond/Marshall/ and either PJ3 or Harkless and you have something good to build on, plus keeping JJ/BBD/Q as locker room vets and you are starting something that in a year or two could be very good.

Why would you do this if you're Houston? Why are they giving up three top 15 picks for Dwight who they know for a fact isn't signing with them next summer.

What's their logic?

The Rockets are accumulating draft picks with the hope of acquiring Dwight Howard, but their secondary strategy is to pursue Josh Smith.

Houston is prepared to trade for Howard without an assurance for an extension.

The Rockets could also pursue other marquee players beyond Smith with their plethora of picks.

Just a thought..

What if the report that Hennigan is talking with Dwight after the draft is false? He is known for keeping everything inhouse.

He could have met with him already for all we know..

Trade story add: Dwight obviously Rockets' dream target but sources say they'll pursue Atlanta's Josh Smith (and others) if ORL won't budge

Houston is presumably going to have to manufacture multiple top-10 picks to get Orlando intrigued. But that's direction Rockets are headed

Ball headed for new ORL GM's court. By all accounts Hennigan does NOT want to rush into Dwight deal. But if HOU offers fistful of firsts ...

And from YBR on TBN:

Oh he wouldnt leave or stay just because of Alex Martins. I do want him to call Alex though, theyre just playing this crazy game right now, Rob will give Dwight a visual of the teams future, but i think this issue is bigger than bringing a new GM in

That all was not done for Dwight, Orlando needed those changes for Orlando. Remember he opted in with Stan, Otis and the rest of them still here. Problems bigger than that

Sources say Houston has an offer of Lowry, the #14 and #16 picks for Tyreke Evans and the #5 pick on the table. Up to Sacramento to decide.

i know getting the higher picks from hou are better if the are early in 1rst round but would a package of lowry,martin,dally,14,16,18 be really that bad i mean especially if we can trade 1 or 2 players ourselves cant that be just as good a option as trying to hope drummind isnt kwame 2.0 or..you know lowry is a good player and the other 2 guys are expirings so they can be traded easily..
lowry/(dudu)
martin/jj
harkless?/turkey fat
pj3/moultrie
melo/baby

or trade 19 and anderson/martin for tyreke and 5

lowry/dudu
tyreke/jj
mkg/turkey
pj3/zeller
melo/baby

how does that sound

IF THIS ALL HAPPENS, and we ended up with 5th, 8th, and 14th...maybe we could package 14 & 19 to move up to #10 (new orleans). Then we would have 3 top 10 picks, plus sheding Turk's contract hopefully in the process.

Who should we draft if we got the 5th, 8th and 14th, and 19th picks?

I say, Drummond, Rivers, Marshall and Perry Jones.

I can't remember the last time a draft was so intriguing.

Wow man i actually think we're on the brink of trading Dwight Howard.....interesting for sure.....i'm not sure Houston's offer is an offer we couldn't refuse but it would be one to think about.....especially if Rob contacts Dwight and he still hasn't decided yet.....

For those saying rivers in an undersized sg he went to the draft combine and measured in at 6'5 , that's not undersized at the 2, he can play some pg the way westbrook does and Ellis has, or he can just be our sg, but am I the only one afraid of drummonds bust potential? Why not Barnes at 5 rivers at 8 and Marshall at 14 moultrie/melo/best player available at 18 or 19 which ever it is we have?

Hmm. If that happens then we will have a ton of cap space this summer since we would take back their 2 expirings..we can then sign Dwight and CP3/Monta whoever...Wonder if there are any rule against that..

Maybe all this Houston talk puts a little pressure on Dwight to sign an extension. I don't see Dwight wanting to "waste" a year in Houston.
