I think 18 is around martins ballpark in terms of value. During trade deadline i wanted to move martin for b eazy and 18.

We would be selling low but wahtyougonna do. Kevin martin was absolutely horrid last year. I dont think i can stomach watching another season of him in rockets red.

18 and a 2nd round pick would be ok imo.

when martin is on his game he's worth more than the 18th pick. this past season shouldnt influence any team's judgement on him a whole lot, only a little.

i dont follow ncaa that much, but everyone knows this years draft is gonna be deep cuz of the lockout. if the top 6-10 players in this draft are super/all stars, then kevin should be worth a 11-15th pick.

i think we should at least try to get him in a trade for an all star or a player on his talent level. the 18th pick isnt that bad, so im ok with it

His game revolved around jumping into defender for free throws, he cant do that anymore. Last year if you replaced him with anthony morrow, i dont think anybody wouldve noticed.

im not buying that jumping into his defender. those new rules put a little dent in his game, thats it. if a team utilizes him correctly, they get (off the top of my head)
-reliable 3pt shooter
-off the ball scorer
-really good ft shooting
-decent passer
-good shot selectio
-doesnt need volume shots
-inconsistent defense
-in his prime

thats a pretty daam good resume for a scorer. 18th pick my ass, ima have to take back what i said and say he's worth a top 5 pick. no jk but he worth more than the 18th pick

 i was wondering when someone was gonna say something like this. as i was typing all that i said to myself "man, lord have mercy on my soul :( "

i shifted the universal powers out of balance. the basketball gods will not pleased with this. the only way to save the universe is if LarsV8 makes a thread dedicated to hating kevin martin. the ball is in his court now. what is gonna do? we're all waiting anxiously in trembling fear

Source: "not a chance" Dwight Howard stays in Houston after next season if traded there. Story up soon on http://NBA.com.

Seems like an awful lot to give up for someone who has no plans on staying does it not?

If true, I don't want him on this team. What a drama queen.

That is true. If the Rockets do get him then he will be a drama queen and distraction for the entire season.

Is he worth the risk?

Toronto now saying they are not interested in trading the 8th pick and haven't even talked to the Rockets about Kyle Lowry.

Trade story add: Dwight obviously Rockets' dream target but sources say they'll pursue Atlanta's Josh Smith (and others) if ORL won't budge

http://twitter.com/ESPNSteinLine/statuses/217630824059772928

Interesting. I wouldn't have guessed Josh Smith would be one of the guys we might go after at all.

I've warmed up to Smith's game over the years myself, but he never striked me as a "Morey player". I also question how good a fit he'd be next to Dwight, although I guess we wouldn't have to worry about that as apperently he's plan B, not follow-up plan to plan A.

Where would Howard walk though? he can't go to the Nets anymore, so where? not LA, not Dallas, are there any good destinations with cap room in 2013 for him to make it worthwhile to give up the extra money Houston would be able to pay him?

Most of the sources keeping saying Dwight is headed to Brooklyn by the NBA Draft. But, in reality if it happens it will probably on July 11th. Sign and trades will occur. The Magic want the Nets picks and Brook Lopez. Plus, they might grab another able body.

The Nets don't have a pick, they traded it for Gerald Wallance.

If all this is true that Dwight won't resign and deron won't sign here even if d12 gets traded here then let's just start the rebuild pleaseeee

I don't want d12 for a year especially if we give up future picks

I say collect picks then move up in the draft...I think I'm gonna have an ulcer by Thursday

Return to Houston Rockets
