Latest rumor is Cleveland is offering #4, #24 and #34 for the #2 pick.

I think it almost makes sense to trade out. Ernie and his scouts are banking on MKG never finding his shots, so trade down, possibly get Barnes at 6? Or somewhere around that range.

There's a rumor on foxsportsohio.com that Blatche and #3 for Gasol is or has been discussed.

Personally, I would be OK with 3+Blatche for 5+ Garcia.

I probably would be too. What does Garcia's contract look like?

Watching Barnes highschool clips clearly shows he has superior drive ability in the right situation. I noticed that he had less weight before college which probably gave him more explosiveness. With added bulk, he lost some of drive explosiveness but gained superior strength.
I think its reasonable to assume that Barnes, once his body gets adjusted to his new bulk and strength will regain his drive explosiveness.
Tier levels are 1 Davis and Drummond
tier 2 is Barnes by himself
tier 3 empty
tier 4 Royce White
Thomas Robinson
Kidd Gilchrist
tier 5 Damian Lillard
Bradley Beal
Jeremy Lamb
Waiters
Tier 6 Rivers
Ross
Leonard

Garcia has 2 years left, the last year is a eam option which I doubt the Wizards would pick up. Let's just say this happens:

At 4, Bobcats would pick Robinson, then at 5 it's either Kidd-Gilchrist or Barnes at this point. Whichever player the Kings don't pick.

Blatche+3 for Garcia+5 is very interesting. If the Wizards were really targeting either MKG or Barnes all along, that moves makes sense from that perspective.

I was told our top 5 was
Davis
Trob
Mkg
Barnes
Beal

But we will take Beal unless a trade is worked out. We are drafting need over BPA.

My source has' nt mentioned anything at all about Gasol.

I'm running through the various trade down scenarios and I don't see any way we can trade down and still end up with MKG. Beal would be taken at #2 and TRob at #4, so the only reason anyone would be motivated to move up to our #3 spot would be to take MKG.

Basically, to trade down, we must first accept that we would be happy with either Barnes or Waiters. If that's the case, then a trade down with Sacramento (#5), Portland (#6), or Golden State (#7) would make sense.

Bottom line is that we should go ahead and take MKG at #3 and then listen to offers after the selection. If we get blown away, then we can move down. Otherwise, stick with MKG and be happy with it.

We have Ernie, remember? It won't go down that way. He will take Harrison Barnes at #3 on Thursday night. I'd bet everything I own on that prospect. Mark it down, nate. Barnes is our SG next year.

So is a consensus forming the Beal is the best pure shooter out there? Will he likely be taken with the 2nd pick? Given the Wizards recent trade, it seems like thier next need is a pure shooter. If Beal is not available who would the next best scorer be? And can Beal, Barnes, or MKG play effective defense in the NBA?

I expect them all to play defense well enough. MKG might become all NBA type on defense. I have my doubts about Barnes, the way he plays the game doesn't scream quickness, and if he seems lackadaisical sometimes on the offensive side, I have my doubts about his defensive intensity.

Picking Beal would not necessarily be need over best player. In my analysis, Beal and MKG are equals. Picking the guy who fits best with the roster would make sense.

If the Wizards take Kidd-Gilchrist, and then John Jenkins in the 2nd round, I think that would be a solid draft. Singleton as the last or second to last guy off the bench wouldn't be the worse idea in the world.

Jenkins will be gone by 32. I still think Blatche and our 32nd
will end-up elsewhere.
