As a Cavs fan I am good with giving up #24. It might be a bit much but Beal fits our system the best and even though I really like T Rob - we are invested in trying to develop Thompson. I think at the end of the day, the Cavs part with 24......

That's good. Hopefully the Cavalier's FO says the same thing.

and it's the only way you'd be able to get beal because washington will take him.

On that same token if the Cavs do snag Beal, the Wizards will take Robinson. I know I've been advocating Drummond this whole time but when the time comes to pick, you want as many of your main priorities available to you.

washington could still take Barnes or MKG. They have both Okafor AND Nene AND Blatche AND poor taste. they really don't need Robinson.

Totally forgot they traded for Okafor, but then again they also have Ariza and the only player that fills their need is Beal. They might take either small forward, but I would be holding my breathe if I was Charlotte when they announce their pick.

Ariza can shoot, so MKG wouldn't kill them offensively. Ariza can play some SG, so they wouldn't be killed by Barnes.

And Booker, and Seraphin, and Vesely. They are super maxed at the 4/5 positions. I wouldn't be surprised if some of those guys come to us in a 3 for 2 swap if the Wiz get desperate.

How cool would it be if we got pieces in a 2 for 3 swap, and then got more pieces in a 3 for 4+24 swap?

I don't think we could do 3 for 4 and 24 because Beal would be gone and I don't know that the Cavs would really care at that point.

I am not sure Wizards are capable of bluffing. And if they do bluff with Beal being their target then they have no reason to trade up and they just actually helped us to press Cavs. The only reason they have to trade up si that they want to prevet Cavs getting ahead of them and take their player - if their targets differ there is no scenario for conscutive trades with those teams. Unless they would like to trade to trade that pick further or something which is in kind of crazy area of scenarios.

There is of course a possibility they don't even know what they are doing but I wouldn't plan moves based on that assumption.

That is certainly a possibility, but if the Cats get this deal done, I think they will be content to choose either Robinson or Barnes at 4. When making deals you only do so if there is a player you feel sure you can still get at the lower spot. Robinson and Barnes seem to have their favor, so obtaining either player 2 spots down works. The 24th pick could be packaged to move up or still deliver a decent prospect.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Rufus on fire has a Tweet up from some Cleveland sports reporter. Says the Cavs and Bobcats are in talks and the deal would be #2 for #4, #24 and #34. If so, I would be very happy as I think that #34 would be used with #31 to get back up to around #25 or so. Cho must be turning the screws. Maybe we cand get #33 also, or maybe throw them Matt Carroll's contract. Come on Cho! Keep tightening the screws!

Cant trade Carroll until after 7/1/12. Rats.

I would be holding my breathe too, but people in the know seem to think Washington's big board is 1) Beal 2) MKG. So I think TRob is still there at 4. Even if he isn't, I wouldn't be too disappointed with either Barnes or MKG, and I think the front office feels the same.

If Washington and Cavs are interesed in our pick we have a lot of possibilities: (remember we will not have 2º round in the next draft)

trade 1:

Cavs: #2
Cats: #4, #24, Cavs´2º round pick 2013

trade 2:

Wizards: #2 and Tyrus Thomas
Cats: #3, Ariza and Wizards 2º round pick 2013.

This would be perfect.

Lifted this from the Cavs board:

An interesting news report, from CBS Sport's Ken Burger, about the Cavs really offered Charlotte and other smoke drifting around the NBA draft.

* Cleveland wants Beal and has offered the No. 4 pick and either the 33rd or 34th pick to Charlotte for the No. 2 pick, which would allow the Cavs to jump ahead of Washington and land the Florida guard. The hangup is that Charlotte, not in love with anyone available at No. 2, wants Cleveland's 24th pick. Cleveland also has had conversations with Sacramento (No. 5) and Golden State (No. 7), but the Charlotte deal makes the most sense and sources say there is enough momentum and desire on both sides to get it done. The Bobcats like Robinson and Barnes, and at least one of them will be available at No. 4; if Cleveland got Beal with the second pick, Washington might take Barnes at No. 3, sources said.

no chance i let the cavs move ahead of us for as little as the 33rd pick. i decline that on principle alone, even if i am 100% convinced my guy would still be there at 4. not gonna help a team out for that little.
