I think it almost makes sense to trade out. Ernie and his scouts are banking on MKG never finding his shots, so trade down, possibly get Barnes at 6? Or somewhere around that range.

I'd take that deal from Cleveland. Forget trading down to the 6th, lets stay at the #4 and take MKG.

I expect them all to play defense well enough. MKG might become all NBA type on defense. I have my doubts about Barnes, the way he plays the game doesn't scream quickness, and if he seems lackadaisical sometimes on the offensive side, I have my doubts about his defensive intensity.

Just wanted to point out that Washington picks 3rd, not 4th...

Interesting. Would you say that he would be a poor man's Rudy Gay?

I didn't see a lot of memphis' games this season, but when i did get a chance to watch em, I was actually satisfied with his D. I think his athleticism helps him a lot in that department. Rudy's problem is that he falls in love with the fact he can get a shot off anyone rather than driving to the rim. If we take barnes, my hope for him is rather like granger than Gay. I don't know what the advance stats say about Gay's defense but I thought he did a good job of providing weak side help, playing the passing lanes and what not. We could lead the league in forced turnovers next year with our length.

Why? What makes you certain? If anything, EG's pattern is to take the better athlete with more upside, even if he can't hit the ocean from a row boat. MKG is the better athlete with the greater upside. Barnes is the more polished athlete without as high an upside. What other pick has EG made that looks like this?
