The Genius work of Billy King....

Post#1 » by PetroNet » Wed Jun 27, 2012 2:04 am

Rumors from David aldridge have the nets trying to move up into the top 3 to try and draft Thomas Robinson... Which will certainly take each and every asset the nets have(which isnt a ton).

so basically, this is King's master plan...

STEP 1: Trade a top 6 pick for a 6 week rental of Gwallace.

STEP 2: Trade 2 first round picks, Marshon Brooks, Anthony morrow for the #2 pick, as well as taking back a terrible contract.

brilliant!

part of me wants dwill to walk just so we can fire this guy sooner rather then later.

If they can somehow manage to convince Wallace to resign, then it's not too bad of a deal(not a great one but not horrible.)

Yep as much as I say Billy King is the 2nd coming of Isiah, if it manages to convince DWill to stay then it's worth it. It's not like the 1st rounders are going to be in the lottery (They better hope not) since they are in win now mode and TRob ain't bad. All the Nets care about is keeping DWill to avoid the havoc of the NY Media and their failure to begin in Brooklyn.

stop it. please. just stop it.

the #6 pick for 6 weeks of gerald wallace, when you can isntead keep the pick and sign wallace instead is just about as dumb a move as you can make.

the nets FO can gain back a little of their respectability if they poach the euro market like they're in a position to do.
ak47, mirza teletovic, their 2nd round stash bojan bogdanovic.
re-sign d-will which it looks more likely than not. farmar opts in and re-sign humphries.

d-will/farmar
morrow/brooks
ak47/bogdanovic
hump/teletovic

I reserve to say anything bad about Billy King until this D-Will/D-12 mess sorts itself out. I mean Spo was getting killed by everyone on RealGM and people claiming he needed to be fired and now he's an NBA Champion, not one thread have I seen that says Spo didn't earn that championship.

People need to realize some of the blame for this falls on the star & ultimately the owner for not telling the star to go **** himself.. BK made that move out of desperation to keep Deron, just like all of those "big name" additions to keep Lebron in a Cavs jersey.. You need an owner that has the balls to stand up to your star.. Look at us when Kobe demanded Bynum be traded for JKidd.. People think we're screwed NOW, imagine replacing Bynum with Kidd in that core.. Yikes.. The minute you start letting emotions make your moves for you, you lose

Does Bogdanovic plan on coming over to the NBA? Even if he does, I don't think his game will translate well at all.

the blazers were never going to resign Wallace, they had always preferred resigning Batum (rightfully so).... and the nets with all their cap could have signed Wallace anyway, no matter how you look at it, it was a terrible move....... the nets with the 6th pick and their cap space could have gotten a much better player on draft day to try and convince dwill to stay

Why do you still assume that Wallace would have signed w/o the trade?

He's trying to but most likely he will be a Net next year, he has a sticky situation with his buy-out and his team he plays for, even if his game doesn't translate that well he's coming off the bench so he'll learn.

I doubt we get AK 47 this year.

So far, I think if D-will resigns we might have:

Dwill/Farmar
Morrow/Brooks/ Gerald Green
Wallace/Gerald Green
Illyasova/Jordan Williams
Brook Lopez/ Johan Petro

If we do absolutely no trading on Draft day. I wouldn't mind that line up. We were without Brook Lopez all year and we were a few games out of the play offs deep in the year and we were the #1 team with the most games missed due to injury, tanking or not (which came at the very end of the season anyway).

Doesn't matter what the Blazers were going to do, if anything, Wallace might have opted-in IIRC!

Pretty much this. I hate the trade looking back at it, because really Billy did that in light of Deron Williams. Did he have to give up that much though? Hell no! :x

last time i read anything about him, the nets were trying to convince him to come over and that he was "eager" to play in the NBA. i think he'd be a better player than marshon brooks, which isnt saying much, but i at least think he'll be a solid catch and shoot shooter who can come off screens.
