But while Josh Smith is not a superstar PF and never will be, he breaks the mold and epitomizes hustle defense and brings size and athleticism at SF.
Lets not speak in generalizations here.
I feel like I'm beating a dead horse here.
-Josh hustles...sometimes. Other times he is the last player back on defense because he's arguing with officials/moping/menstruating.
-Josh has feuded with every pro coach he's had. Woody, the disciplinarian and LD the player's coach.
-Josh takes terrible shots. Even when his production/stats indicate he shouldn't.
-Josh has a TERRIBLE basketball IQ. he throws alley-oops from half court. He throws the ball to the opposing team during in bounds plays in playoff games.
-He plays off emotion, good when he's happy...very bad when he's not.
He's just not worth the headache and he's in his prime now. Meaning, two years from now, he's just an undersized PF who can't jump or dunk like the old days.
He's not a great scorer. He's an average rebounder. He is a great weakside shot blocker, but can't guard PFs (other than Bosh). He just doesn't do anything great. He could def put a team like OKC or LAL over the top, but on a middling team, he's not particularly helpful.
Plus, Josh wants to leave. And I can't blame him.
