2012 NBA Draft Day Thread: Tonight 7:30EST on ESPN
Pick up talks about the draft, pick related trade rumors, our picks #2 and #31, published mock drafts/big boards, your own personal mock draft/big board etc here.
Once we make our actually picks tomorrow night, a "Welcome To The Bobcats (insert players name here)" thread will be created for that specific player.
If a verified trade happens, a thread will be made to discuss it there.

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Day Thread
If Charlotte keeps insisting that Thomas be apart of any deal for a team to move up to number 2 than I don't think a trade gets done. A team would have to be horribly dumb to take on Thomas and his contract.

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Day Thread
i would be very very surprised if any trade for #2 happens before new orleans goes on the clock. it just makes too much sense to string it out at this point.

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Day Thread
I really think Gilchrist is a dark horse IF we keep the pick at 2. If we wanted Robinson we could easily trade down to 4 and accept back whatever the Cavs want to give us (33 or 34 pick) without stressing that we need the 24 to get the deal done. Beal would go 2 and Gilchrist would probably go 3.
No use in using the 2nd pick on Robinson when we could easily have it at 4, and I doubt Washington would pick Robinson at 3 just to spite us for trading with Cleveland.

Chad Ford just posted this on him and Bill Simmons yearly mock draft.
"FORD: Cleveland did offer the Hornets the fourth pick, the 24th pick, the 33rd and 34th pick and got hung up on. I'm told they would put Tristan Thompson (their no. 4 pick last year) in the deal, too. Nothing. Even if they offered Kyrie, I don't think the Hornets budge. "
Yikes. I think I would take that deal and gallop away in a heartbeat if the Cavs offered Irving, Thompson, 4,24,33,and 34 for essentially Davis. Davis is going to be a great player, but Irving is going to be a stud as well, and on top of all those other assets?
I think Ford is dead wrong on that one.

Staying at #2 and selecting TROB is a mistake unless we have a deal with another team to acquire a small forward and pick(s) Beal is a Hot commodity and if we stay at #2 is our pick "no matter what"( Stephen A Quote). Then if Cleveland picks TROB or MKG at #4 we should again approach them for their pick at #4,#24 and Verajo for TT and Beal. Then we should offer Golden state DJA/#24/#31 for #30,#36 and Dorrell Wright. At 30 we select Quincy Miller(SF) and at 36 we select Tyshawn Taylor(PG).

Same here. Kyrie at least has proven something in the league already. Not only that but you would be getting the 4th pick in this years draft as well.

We HAVE to draft Barnes tomorrow night. Then the Observer can run the headline:
"Harry and the Henderson"

Please god no, no Barnes unless we're getting a Drummond, Leonard, Lillard, or White with him.

They can run it anyway with a question mark, and then say "No, that would just be stupid."

Beginning to think Barnes is out of the question for us, things have kind of cooled down with talks of him lately. I think its between Robinson and Gilchrist.

I'm going to laugh when we don't draft Barnes, Robinson, or Gilchrist.
