With the possible deal being floated of:
#5 & Tyreke
for
#14,#16 and Lowry
I think a trade of:
Paul Millsap, GSW pick, and taking back Fransisco Garcia is much better for them.
Why? They don't dump Reke for nothing... they can trade him later for an asset: Chicago's pick from Charlotte or Charlottes from Detroit tonight. Also, I have soured on Lowry since learning from national guys that he is kind of a negative guy...(which is why I wasn't surprised he's causing issues down in Houston right now).
Now I don't know if there are any legs to this deal but i would even include our other pick if necessary... but preferably we could grab the Dallas pick which I just keep believing is available to us if we want it... by swapping TPE for Odom and #17... (Dallas save $3.6M in cap space to pursue Deron) and we get another asset.
We pick Gillchrist!
Preferrably though we get a call from Portland who is desperate to get Lillard and we get the #6 and #11 for #5. If we need to throw in #17 or next years to do that I would also want #40 to pick up Machado the PG.
Then I would trade #11 and Cash or our future pick to move up to #8 with Toronto to get Drummond who I think is a stud in the making.
Rebuilding assets after whirlwind trades:
Favors
Gilchrist
Burks
Hayward
Kanter
Drummond
We resign Al, and possible Harris or a Nash. Then we develop all the youngins.
Gather the assets now!
I don't want to waste 1 year of Paul or the GSW pick when their value is greatest now. Once the season starts and GSW's are playing well that pick loses all value... heck ours may end up being better than GSW after going a little younger next year.
Harris/Bulldog/Machado
Burks/Hayward/Gillchrist
Hayward/Gillchrist
Favors/Kanter
Jefferson/Drummond
Next year under this scenario we still have our likely 10-18 pick and huge upside.
I just believe the #5 is available if we give up Millsap, take on a little salary, and give up a pick or two. Even if we didn't get 6,11 I would do it to get Gillchrist or Barnes or even Lillard....
Do something KOC because in a few months Millsap will be disgruntled riding the pine... and the GSW pick won't be worth as much.

Chilchrist will be gone at five and I doubt that the Kings would add a lottery pick to Evans to trade for Millsap (who is expiring). In the same vein, though, I'd do Millsap+GSW 1st for Evans.

How could Evans, Harris, and Burks possibly play together? They're all the same player

Re: Finish The Picks/Youth This Summer
There are rumors floating that the Jazz might be making a move to put them in a position to consider not only Lillard, but MKG or Beall as well. Could be Internet b.s., but it's being reported on HoopsWorld and Chad Ford, and not from a blog run by crazy fans like us.
If that is the case, then top 8 for Lillard and top 5 for MKG at a minimum would have to be in order.
The trade for Sap, GSW pick and something else for the #5 pick from Sac makes sense. Sap would hugely improve their starting lineup as they really don't have a PF. Also, the kings probably don't want any more rookies on their roster quite yet.
If they could get the #5 and the #17, and are willing to take on Ty Thomas as an expensive backup PF, then the Jazz perhaps have a better package than the Cavs (I've read that the Cavs are offering #4 and #24, but Charlotte wants to unload Thomas too) to get the #2 pick (Beall probably) from Charlotte. This is probably a stretch, though.

i think that im even more excited about picking Lillard this year then i was about picking Jimmer last year, only guy i would like to have more in Jazz uni from 12 draft is Beal, im not convinced that we really need MKG.SoCalJazzFan wrote:There are rumors floating that the Jazz might be making a move to put them in a position to consider not only Lillard, but MKG or Beall as well. About getting Evans i dont like this idea, guy is poor shooter has bad work ethic , i think that we should rather give chance to Burks.

Re: Finish The Picks/Youth This Summer
I've heard the deal is Millsap and the GS pick for the #5 and Jimmer.
Rumor mills are going crazy right now so I have no idea if that has any truth, but I'd love to do that deal.

Hmm. I am conflicted over this rumor. I'd like that #5, which would likely be Lillard. Jazz get to local college players out of one trade.

Harris is expiring, I think Evans and Burks can coexist nicely as long as one develops their jumper a bit more. With any sort of floor spacing that combination of speed and athleticism would be deadly.
