...who do you like for a backup center?

My first choice would be to re-sign Jordan Hill.

What sayeth the board?

Marcus Camby could be a good fit and if Gasol is traded for Josh Smith, he can also play the five in a smaller line-up.

I really like Camby as an off-season acquisition. Even have him penned down myself in my off-season wishlist :D

Camby's staying in Houston.

And the person that's been our backup C since we traded for him, Hill.

Lakers can pay up to $3mill I believe. Unless some team like the Bobcats or Nets are willing to give him more than that, then keep him.

The correct answer is: MWP

World Peace should be our starting PF ... he's big enough to body up with most power forwards and he allows us more flexibility for small ball.

Our back-ups should be a re-signed Jordan Hill and Josh McRoberts.

And I'm 100% okay with this approach. We need more space and shots for Bynum. Artest can step out and shoot 3s and pull the PFs away from the hoop, i.e. less double teaming.

I think Gasol's as good as gone

If we can't get that lotto pick we're supposedly looking for I'm sure the back up plan,Josh Smith is going down

If the Lakers really think MKG can be elite (in the near future) then moving Gasol to get him could make some sense.

Re-signing Hill and possibly using the TPE in a deal for Beasley could adequately address the backup center and starting four spot rather well.

This scenario would also likely mandate re-signing Sessions for the PG position.

My dream scenario(with all these rumors popping up) would be:

Trading Gasol and MWP for the 3rd pick and getting MKG,Ariza and getting Blatche too(to sweeten the deal)

Get rid of Blatche immediately....ideally for a pick,if not shop him for nothing(a TPE) or buy him out

We'd clear a TON of cap-space and have a little flexibility ...we could even use our TPE to absorb a contract or make a S&T deal for Beasley

If we get Mo too it's all good...if not,I'll settle with Sessions for now

Resign Hill

Williams(or Sessions)/Blake(God ,I'm hoping Goudelock gets a shot here,in the Latimes interview they told him to improve his PG skills and defence this summer)..hoping he takes Blake's spot

Kobe/Ariza/MKG....3 man rotation at the SF position, getting the majority of minutes
Between Ariza and MKG,who doesn't start would STILL play a lot, like 30 mpg a game and act like a 6th man

Beasley
Bynum

Beasley can do his thing from midrange a lot better than Pau did, even can stretch the floor and make the 3

Hill as the backup off the bench at PF/C

I think it's vital to resign jordan hill. But I read rumors of him being moved in a sign and trade for Beasley.
