So he is more like all the PFs we already have? :D

Have you seen Gooden's handle lately? Ersan looks like quasimodo/frankenstein on the dribble drive. Neither guy can finish at the rim especially thru contact.

If what we are really after is a quality basketball roster and good salary structure, then we don't pay Ersan/Monta the combined 26-30 Million a year its going to cost us. We trade Monta for the best available pick.

Target Ross/Lamb with that pick and at 14 take Sullinger.

Dalembert...

He'll be starting his 11th season and we'll be his 4th team in 4 years. He has firmly entered the veteran journeyman phase of his career so I can see why Hammond wanted him.

What threw me though was he was never a Clipper.

Is Ervin Johnson an apt comparison for Dolly?

He's been playing for 10 years, I think Dalembert is a good comparison for Dalembert.

Eerily similar at the same age. Nice comp.

Big difference is Daly has played twice as many seasons as Johnson at the same age.

Give it time. The way Hammond brings these vets in and ships them right back out (RJ/Maggette/Salmons/Jackson...) he could be a Clipper by fall of 2013.

50+ pages for a Brockman/Dalembert trade. Bucks fans are legit.

Yup. And that's why we deserve to watch a much better team than the one we consistently have...

Glad Daly is at least talking the talk:

“He was really excited about going to Milwaukee,’’ Cornstein said. “He’s very familiar with the Bucks’ roster and believes they are headed in the right direction.

“It’s always the coach’s decision about playing time, but he believes it’s a fabulous opportunity for him to play there. Like I said, he’s very excited.’’

Dalembert, 31, was sent to the Bucks, along with Houston’s No. 14 pick in tonight’s NBA draft, for Jon Leuer, Shaun Livingston, Jon Brockman and the 12th pick.

He should be excited. Daly is in a contract year before what will probably be his final sizable deal, and Skiles will give him as many minutes as he can handle if he earns them.

I'm not concerned about Daly hurting the development of any of our young center prospects. They'll still have plenty of clock they could earn, and I think he'll help the development of everyone by keeping us in games through anchoring our defense against the other team's starters.

And this is a very different situation than Bogut considering how durable Dalembert has been. We should be able to rely on having a real defensive anchor for all 82 games, rather than whatever percentage we even could optimistically predict Bogut would play per year.

Any truth to the rumor that we traded Leuer and Brockman because they're white?

just checked the Rockets board....3 pages. As bad as the Bucks franchise has been, we do have quite a loyal following.....at least on this board.

Trade netted the Bucks $1.5 million in cash per Dennis Krause.

Well we have to take Zeller to make up for it, and of course resign Ersan and Delfino, maybe we'll take the kid from Northwestern in the 2nd.

We're just waiting for Skiles to let the young guys out of the cage and for Kohl to sell. I think we're pretty close to watching a fun team run & score again.

I have not read much of this thread but here is my first reaction to this trade.

This seems to be one of the very few trades that I would call a smart trade by Hammond. I am not a Hammond fan.

I have always been a fan of Dalembert and am very pleased to have him. Typical Bucks MO decent starter...better backup. For a team desperate for size at C this is a very good acquisition. We will be able to defend the position and hopefully wont get eatin alive by Bogut next year. I think the guy can run the floor pretty well so that fits. Good rebounder, I presume good efficiency.

Swapping picks 12 for 14 seems trivial to me. You college player experts may disagree.

Losing Leuer? Eh. I guess I tire of hoping guys like him pan out. They generally don't. Not a big loss though I did like his fundamentals and approach to the game.

Clearly Brockman doesn't matter.

My view of the Bucks is not nearly as dire as many around here. I think we may put out a pretty decent product next year and may be able to fight in the 5-7 range. For me that would be fun. I would love to have what we had back in the day with solid 50 win teams. We are not on a championship team path but we could be decent. Need some good luck. Perhaps this last deal is the start of some smart choices and some good luck.

Not if Bo Ryan has any pull.

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
