@WallaceNBA_ESPN: Strictly a guess, but wouldn't be surprised if Ray (shooter), Kaman, Camby (bigs), Kenyon (tweener) are among those on Riley's F/A radar

Not really a bad guess. Pretty obvious. Problem is, most of these guys would demand the mini-MLE or more.

What about bringing in Varnado and developing Pittman some more.

We finally have a real summer and training camp for improvements.

We just need to bring in 1-2 guys honestly.

There is no need for an overhaul. Just try to get Ray Allen ATLEAST. He will replace Miller if Miller can't even walk ...

This is considered baiting. This is your only warning.

EDIT: Wait...how many warnings do you already have against your record? Wow.

At 27, you werent going to draft a game changer. And we have no time for developing talent.

It's a good trade. Got a second rounder this year, and a higher pick next year(unless Philly **** the bed this year). A sensible move if there wasn't anyone on the board Pat liked.

I'm intriuged that we have 6 guys earmarked. That's pretty big turnover even if we land half of them.

Wonder who they are?

Ray
Nash
Camby
Kamen
???

Ray is sounding like a lock. Would be nice if we could get Camby or Kamen or KG. That'd be a helluva summer and strike fear in the rest of the league.

of course they will be hunted by lots of other teams and some of those will be able to offer much more money.

Let's not count on getting anyone.

Ray Allen certainly isn't a "lock" and let's not forget that he's 37.

I'll happily have any one of the guys you mention but seem to remember we only got Battier despite all the hoopla last season. People will use us to get a better deal elsewhere - like dalembert etc...

Nash and Kamen would be great but let's just accept we may not get much and be happy that "not much" was enough for the championship this year.
I remember when the Dolphins were perennial contenders

Hopefully camby demand would be less.

Does anyone know if Juwan is gonna be on the roster next year? I really want him to stay on the bench and get a coaching job, but i dont think he should be taking up a roster spot anymore

This.

Only player that can come is Ray.

Jamal Crawford is gonna get more money, Kenyon is a no...tired of 6'9 PF, Kaman is gonna get paid, Camby is bigger Joel.

It's just Ray and Varnado that are gonna be additions to the team.

Camby is a bigger Joel? Wait, what? He's a significantly better rebounder, and provides the size we need. He'll get you 9-10 rebounds in 20 minutes or so. Can't even fathom Joel grabbing 9-10 boards in 40 minutes.

As old as he is Camby would provide solid help for this team for a good 15 minutes or so per game.

Also, with Bosh playing much more center we certainly need another PF. I'd take K-Mart for the minimum, no doubt. He can still contribute on both ends of the floor and he's still a solid shot blocker.

Kenyon gave the clippers so really good minutes down the stretch last year. Even though I am a really big fan of his, he is simply a luxury. We could use him similar to how we use battier in that he is on of the best on ball defenders in the league. I would prefer to try and bring in some young talent this offseason but we will just have to wait and see what Riley does.

I rather just get Ray and call it a day.

Camby at this point can't do anything offensively.

Kenyon is small and already have Haslem, Kenyon is redundant.

Unless Jamal Crawford can come or Kaman can come, don't see anybody worth having after Ray.

And Ray is just to replace someone standing in the corner.

I think I spoke of this before. I think it would be fantastic if we were to allow Howard to expire and ride off into the sunset, sign Ray Allen, push hard for Marcus Camby and Greg Oden, and fire money and whores at Steve Nash. As far as a diamond in the rough, Scott Machado is an excellent passer that went undrafted, and would be a nice summer league or training camp invite. We wouldn't look too bad.

Nash - Chalmers - Cole
Wade - Miller - Harris
LeBron - Battier - Jones
Bosh - Haslem - Anthony
Camby - Pittman - Oden

We would still be able to play small ball and bulk it up whenever necessary, and continue to develop Pittman and Oden (provided he heals properly). I would relate Oden's role with us to what Shaun Livingston had with the team during Michael Beasley's rookie season, only he wouldn't be cut for someone else under any circumstances.

If my math is correct, that's a 15-man roster that says goodbye to Ronny Turiaf, Eddy Curry, and Juwan Howard and replaces them with Marcus Camby, Steve Nash, and Greg Oden. I still think Oden's ceiling remains high, so the idea of taking a flyer on him early will certainly benefit a team devoid of significant future draft picks without a doubt.

He certainly has a higher ceiling than the older Eddy Curry. After all, if it doesn't work, Oden's minimum two-year contract won't hurt our battle against the salary cap too much. This is also being said without assuming that Miller and/or James (or both) end up retiring.

I just can't bring myself to dump Harris in favor of Allen if neither Jones or Miller retire before the season starts. It's a matter of loyalty and favor, since I like both players and appreciate their contributions to this championship team.
