2012-2013 do Wizards tank or go for the win?

Post#1 » by Knighthonor » Fri Jun 29, 2012 2:42 am

For the next season, should the wizards tank for lotto, or should they go for the win?

The OKC got their stars from the draft after years of tanking.

Should the Wizards also tank, or will ego and fans motivate the win?
With the 32 pick coming in years down road,

What you believe should happen?

win and not eve a question. tanking would be a big step backwards with the additions and change in culture

my point is weve already just about done that. We have enough of that. We can start winning now. We just had 3 straight high lottery picks and former guys like KS & Book who are now coming into there own. Not to mention 3 real vets in Oak, Ariza, and Nene. Durant won 50 games in his 3rd year so what do you mean the OKC model? This was the last step in that process

They'll practically have all-stars at four positions, with a world champion at the fifth position. They're young, deep in big, wide bodies, have the fastest PG in the league, a lights out SG, and think D first. Practically sounds like OKC to me. I say spread your wings, go for the gold, reach for the stars. With a little luck, they might just get the #1 pick next year.

We're making the playoffs. Might even be as high as a 5 or 6 seed since Boston, Orlando, Chicago, and Atlanta might all start rebuilding this year.

Wall/Beal/Ariza/Nene/Okafor with Crawford/Singleton/Booker/Vesley/Seraphin is a pretty decent lineup. Could use another shooter/scorer but it's pretty balanced all around. Still a lot of young guys, but they'll learn and develop.

Only things preventing us from having a ~45 win season are Wall not developing into a star or Randy Witless being...Randy Witless.

Speaking of tanks, I am thinking of purchasing a condo for my goldfish so he can swim in luxury and experience his own little version of the modern DC.

I found this one online selling for just under 3K.

I have not submitted my offer yet.

Do you think it is overpriced?

man more and more Heat is going into the Kitchen, and its time for the Wizards to avoid the Kitchen Heat for the time being.

Just tank till the Heat cools off. And I mean that literally.

Tank for the next five years? That's how long the Heat will be dominant.

Right now, after Miami and Brooklyn, the East is severely weak. Now is the time to make a playoff push.

I agree, we can't tank for 5 years. It's time to take a step forward.

Nah - Ted won't take. He is striving for supreme mediocrity for the foreseeable future
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!

teh Wiz are done tanking. At some point a team has to play and do its best. This is competitive sport god damn it! The trades done + the state of the roster indicate that they will play to win. Sure it might not come up to much, they might not reach the POs, but you have to try, endless tanking can only do so much good.
