I really hate the "superstar trade demand" era of the NBA. I feel like even though there is a ton of rumors, nothing happens because everyone is holding their breath on Bron, Melo, CP3, and now Dwight and Deron.
I get that there was plenty of value in this draft, but perhaps many other teams felt the same way? Maybe this was an odd year where you couldn't just throw in a few million and a future pick to nab a prospect you liked late?
Either way, I don't fault the FO. Our draft pick was Chase Budinger, a solid acquisition. If I'm being blunt, Kahn can't draft and Adelman doesn't usually play rookies, so I don't see how acquiring a guy Adelmen will actually play AND has proven that he can at least play a little bit hurts us.
I'm glad we didn't go Euro stash at the end. We get a look at a player who might bounce back. I might be wrong, but doesn't Perdue sort of use a system close to Adelmans? I think Hummel was a good gamble that late.
It's unfortunate that our division got so many promising young guys while we didn't get any, but we have plenty of cap room to get a decent starter....I'm just hoping we can entice someone better than Jamal Crawford to come over (Crawford is my worst case scenario). It'll also be nice that this team isn't getting YOUNGER for a change.
