NBA Summer League in Las Vegas (July 13 to 22)

Post#1 » by hands11 » Mon May 7, 2012 1:55 pm

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wiz ... _blog.html

That summer, 22 NBA teams competed in a total of 58 games.

Last year’s draft picks, Jan Vesely, Chris Singleton and Shelvin Mack, are all expected to participate this summer. The Wizards have also spoken to Morris Almond about taking part after he finished the season with the team. Martin has said he would be open to playing as well, if asked.

Surprisingly, Jordan Crawford also stated that he would be interested in playing, despite leading the team in scoring after the all-star break

I heard Mo Evan say he would coach the team.

If Washington wins the lotto I'm going with my dad and boys, hoping the ping pong balls go our way because that'll be a great trip.

Does anyone know of a website where you can view full games of this year's NCAA tournament?

2012 Summer League

Post#5 » by fishercob » Mon Jun 11, 2012 12:40 pm

Welcome to your home for 2012 Summer League discussion!

I expect our roster to be littered with guys who are on our NBA roster as well as 2 or 3 recent draftees. I'm actually concerned that the SL experience will prove to be of little value to our guys since we'll be playing against mostly crappy competition. For instance, John really needs to work on his jumper and avoid the urge (instinct?) to grab a rebound, dribble past/through everyone and dunk. If we see a lot of that, the experience will seem like kind of a waste.

hands11 made a thread on this, but it's probably littered down pages now.

Chris Singleton will also be playing.

Missed that. Feel free to merge. From what I am told, Wall will be playing too.

Uhh, you mean the Paul Davis that once had a PER of like 40 for the Wizards? How dare you disrespect him like that.

if wall is indeed playing, he should limit himself to only shooting open 3's, and gun for 20 assists

It'll be interesting to see if Scott Machado, Kevin Jones, Drew Gordon, and Hollis Thompson play - and who they play for. And Las Vegas is the kind of format that Stogin could shine in - if anyone has an interest in him - which I wouldn't.

Rotoworld is stating that "Undrafted Iona PG Scott Machado has received calls from the Cavaliaers, Hawks, Hornets, Raptors and Rockets". No Wiz discussions.

More interested in going after the G-town guys. Sims can be a 3rd center and Hollis could push Singleton for backup 3 minutes IMO.

Agreed. Would be happy to see Hollis get a look in Summer League with us.
