Free Agents thread (Post Rumors/signings/interests here!)

@CAGrizBlog: Griz issue qualifying offers to Arthur, Speights. Won't issue QO to Mayo or Hudson. CA story coming.

Soooo, Mayo anyone?

I wonder if he'd take 3-4 years worth 5-6 mil.

He has good and bad games all year long, so you cant trust him. But maybe a change of scenary is what brings "the real juice" :)

He'd be on the list, but I'd put the list of NBA free agent SGs (for the Wolves) as

Courtney Lee
Redick (if he is waived, which seems reasonably likely)
Mayo

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

Why do you think it's likely Redick will be waived?

I like that list though.

He has an unguaranteed portion of his contract, very similar to Webster, as I understand it.

I probably like Mayo best, but wouldn't be upset with any of those 3.

I say sign Shved and sweat it out until 2013 when the wing crop is literally 800,000x better:

Monta Ellis, Milwaukee Bucks – $11.0 million – Early Termination Option ($11.0 million)
Andre Iguodala, Philadelphia 76ers – $14.7 million – Early Termination Option ($15.9 million)
Tyreke Evans, Sacramento Kings – $5.3 million – Restricted ($6.9 million Qualifying Offer)
Kevin Martin, Houston Rockets – $12.4 million – Unrestricted
James Harden, Oklahoma City Thunder – $5.8 million – Restricted ($7.6 million Qualifying Offer)
DeMar DeRozan, Toronto Raptors – $3.3 million – Restricted ($4.5 million Qualifying Offer)
Ben Gordon, Detroit Pistons – $12.4 million – Player Option ($13.2 million)
Manu Ginobili, San Antonio Spurs – $14.1 million – Unrestricted
Dorrell Wright, Golden State Warriors – $4.1 million – Unrestricted
Trevor Ariza, New Orleans Hornets – $7.3 million – Player Option ($7.7 million)
Tony Allen, Memphis Grizzlies – $3.3 million – Unrestricted
J.J. Redick, Orlando Magic – $6.2 million – Unrestricted
Anthony Morrow, Brooklyn Nets – $4.0 million – Unrestricted
Daequan Cook, Oklahoma City Thunder – $3.1 million – Unrestricted
Ronnie Brewer, Chicago Bulls – $4.4 million – Unrestricted

I definitely want to add Shved and get rid of the dregs on the roster regardless of who else they go after.

Although a number of the guys in that list suck.

Kind of like that signature where no way Love + #5 = Mayo as OJ is the best playmaker, scorer and defender in the NBA? Ha...

He should be one of the top FA priorities though

Mayo would be a nice fit. He struggled the last 2 years, but that's in a role that didn't seem to suit him. If he's given a chance to be a starter, and a primary wing scorer I think he can get back to being a good player like his 1st 2 seasons in the NBA.

I'd still rather go after Batum(who's agent is completely pissed at Portland) because of his better track record, and he is a player that could be our perimeter defender, while still being able to create for himself and others...and being a great shooter.

Zeller is going to Cavs...

I do agree though. Hed be a really nice back-up behind Pek.

DarrenWolfson Just heard the #Twolves met with FA Brandon Roy earlier today. Another sign that they want him badly. They like their chances to get him.

Bring Mayo over so the Clinic can finally be born.

Sign him and play him in fourth quarter's only. His knees won't last much longer than that each game and we'll have our go to scorer when the game's on the line late.

Even without knees, Roy will be a better defender than Mayo.
