Man i hope this isnt true. I was just starting to get on the MKG bandwagon. I thought people were saying that MJ was handing the operation to Cho.

I was concerned when I saw that this was MJ's "favorite" draft pick. I hope to god this isn't true....if it is then we ARE screwed. I don't believe it though. I don't think Cho would just lie about some of the things he said in his presser. Plus, I do think this guy will be a good guy for this team.

What if MJ sided with Cho in the disagreement. Any time there is a debate the owner will get the last say. The key for Jordan is whether or not he is listening to Cho. We brought him in to be the guy. Also the disagreement could have been over the trade. If everyone wanted MKG but some thought trading back was ok and others didn't maybe Jordan did not want to gamble on losing the guy we wanted. Very cryptic by Ford so who knows what it means.

media making something out of nothing... so now if MKG doesnt pan out they can blame the pick on jordan and only jordan. of course, if MKG does pan out, cho will get all the credit.

If you watch the Gilchrist presser, towards the end I think you get a glimpse of what he is really like out of the spotlight. Towards the end he answers a question and both Higgins and Jeff kind of chime in and agree. He then looks over and kind cracks a joke like "what about cho?" "I see you hiding over there". For that split second he took on a completely different demeanor and I think that is the demeanor he took in his interviews and on the basketball court.

From listening to the kid just today, I think he has already started to show some improvement in his speaking abilities. Compare his presser and his interview on The Drive to his interview on the Mac Attack and at the workout and you can see a slight improvement. I hope this kid gets it worked out, he would be a great inspiration for sure. I think his personality, if he ever lets it show, is very similar to that of Cam's. Very confident, probably cracks some jokes every now and then, just not very outgoing in public. Can't wait for us to eventually see his more personal side.

How can the pick pan out? Is there any real way MKG will be the 2nd best player in the draft?

Sure, but it's not as can't miss as most of us seem to think. I'm very prepared for a Kemba-like rookie season from MKG.

there is surely a very good chance that even of MKG is everything we expect there will still be 1 or 2 players in this draft who were picked lower who end up having better careers. maybe barnes learns how to dribble. maybe drummond figures it out on offense. maybe royce white conquers his demons. maybe marshall is the next nash in phoenix. who knows.

just because MKG doesnt end up as the 2nd best pick doesnt mean the pick didnt pan out. will you be angry if in 5 years MKG is considered the 4th best player in the draft?

Though long familiar with double- and triple-teams, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist stepped back in surprise when he entered an interview session at the NBA draft combine earlier this month and saw the coverage that awaited him.

A few dozen sportswriters turned his way as the basketball prodigy, a shy and sheltered 18-year-old, found his seat, inhaled deeply, and with an air of newfound authority, if not resignation, said "Let's go."

Interviews used to terrify the Camden County, N.J., teenager. A speech impediment, a reserved nature, a lifetime of obstacles to be overcome madethe shadows more comfortable even as his basketball ability focused an ever-intense spotlight in his direction.

thanks for the link k2h.

154 mile round trip every day in high school. makes my 40 mile round trip commute to fort mill seem like a joke.

says his older sister will be moving with him (to charlotte) and they hired an assistant to help him. seems to have a very very strong unit in place around him, including the infamous world wide wes.

you can really get a since of taylors alligator arms when you see him standing next to hyphen. both are basically same height, but taylors arms are a solid 6 inches shorter.

The media does not liketo be wrong. Most of them thought that we were getting Robinson. Ofcourse now they will make up stuff up to justify being wrong.
This is Chad ford before the draft

Charlotte will have a hard time convicing potential picks to work out in charlotte
Bobcats may be moving to another city
MJ likes Gilchrist becuse he is winner and a leader
MJ is not sold on Gilchist

And now
There was some disagreement on the pick

What does this man has to do to show you that he is not reliable.
The curse of Higgins!

If some how MKG can treat his interview like a social gathering, he would sound half decent.
