Wolves Select Robbie Hummel

“@Twolves_PR: Kahn on Hummel: "Towards the end of last season, he started to show signs of returning to form. He was quite a player before his injuries."”

“@Twolves_PR: Kahn: "He'll have a good opportunity to make our team." #Twolves”

“@Twolves_PR: Kahn mentioned Hummel will definitely go to Las Vegas w/ #Twolves for Summer League. "He can really shoot it. He has a beautiful release."”

A DX tweet from 2010

Nemanja Bjelica is really disappointing relative to the amount of hype he has in Europe. Robbie Hummell is a similar prospect, just better.

No risk, good shooter. Might as well see what he has being healthy.

Should be fun to see him and Dwill in the summer league, especially DWill who should dominate

Williams, Hummel, and maybe Bjelica and/or Eliyahu. When a backup center, a backup PF and this kind of SG who we need like the fish needs the water?

Hummel is actually a really good pick for that spot I think. Without the injuries, he's a borderline first rounder IMO, but now the Wolves just get to see whether he can get all the way back to being the player he was before the surgeries. He was pretty dominant at times, no doubt about it.

T-Wolves fans, I guarantee you will not get a player that works harder than Rob and who does not deserve a chance as much as him. He's been through so much that all I and all Purdue fans were hoping for was a chance. Well, he gets it now.

As for Purdue fans, tonight we feel like proud relatives. We've seen Robbie grow up just like we did E`Twaun Moore and JaJuan Johnson a year before him. We've suffered when he's been hurt and taken great joy in his triumphs. This is a well deserved honor, now go earn it. I know I am not the only one that feels extremely proud and honored to have had him as a Boilermaker for the past few seasons.

I leave you with this. Thank you, Rob, for choosing Purdue and becoming a member of our family. It has been an honor.

Warning, it may get a little dusty while watching:

If healthy, I think he could produce like a Gordon Hayward

He's a legit prospect to make the team. Normally the 58th pick (or undrafted FA's) have very little chance to make the team. Incredibly deep draft this year.

And what if he does? He's the freaking 58th pick. You expecting Kahn to pull Michael Jordan out of his butt? At least Hummel has a shot at playing time unlike all the nameless Euros that will never set foot on an NBA court.

if he knows where to pass the ball and can hit an open jumper, Adelman will probably get him started on a 12 year career in the nba. Just seems like the deal

For some reason that really made me laugh and for two different reasons. Neither of them that humorous but I was tickled.

Calm down.

It's not my fault we traded the 18th pick (which would've been a good trade asset combined with Derrick Williams) away way too early.

We probably could've bought another pick in the high twenties if we desperately wanted Budinger. Trading the pick early was just a stupid error which drastically limited our draft day options.

I'm calm. Some people around here seem to be on suicide watch, though, after two days of offseason.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
