2010 Al Jefferson Trade Completed

Post#1 » by StocktonShorts » Fri Jun 29, 2012 8:39 pm

With the draft yesterday all of the assets used to acquire Jefferson have a name.

The Jazz sent:

Kosta Koufos
The pick that would become Donatas Motiejūnas (2011)
The pick that would become Terrence Jones (2012)

At the time they made the deal, Minnesota had a promising young PF (Love) who needed more minutes, and they wanted to move away from an offense centered on Jefferson's low-post game.

Should the Jazz expect to get much more than this in return should they opt to deal Jefferson?

I really like Donatas and Jones actually.mbut if we can get back two first rounders for him I'd be happy.

Donatus is going to be a best, but he slipped and you can't really blame O'Conner for trading a pick that we knew would be out of the lottery. I still think this was a very good deal for us.

This turned out really well for Minnesota, imo. But I think it was pretty close to fair value and about what we can realistically hope to get out of him. If we could get one top 10 pick, I'd be happier, though.
