So what do you guys predict MKG will average next season ?
I expect something around 11ppg 6 reb. 2 assi. 1 stl.

That's what averaged last year in college...I would be shocked if he averaged more than 10 and 5

Ya, something like that.
10ppg 5rpg 2apg 1spg 1bpg
I think his fg% will be pretty respectable as well.

I love the kid. He was every bit as important to Kentucky's fantastic championship run as AD.
He got better as the season progressed. I don't see how you guys can be mad at this pick. Be patient with this kid, he will not disappoint. Get ready for a shift in the culture of your ballclub. It's bigger than the numbers with this one. He's special. You'll see.

i have him at 12/6/2 1 stl .8 b blks. cant WAIT for summer league. I think what will make or break MKG is his ability to draw fouls at this level. if he cant get to the line he could just be a very good roleplayer..6'7 Tony Allen or something defensive stud. if he can get to the line...multiple All-Star.

A 6'7 Tony Allen would be a terror on the defensive end.

Re: Welcome To Charlotte Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
8.2 PPG, 5.4 RPG, 1.4 SPG, .7 BPG
He's going to get about 24 to 28 MPG playing time.
He's going to grow into the NBA and be much better in 2-3 years. Just don't expect too much year 1.

My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu

I'm more in line with VG.
Somewhere in the 9 point, 5-6 rebound, 1.5 steal range

Yeah, I agree with the sentiment that he'd be a better SG than a SF. He's got the lateral quickness I think.

Re: Welcome To Charlotte Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
found the post i made the night of the lottery:
as much as i'd love to take credit, it was what 80% of the mock drafts had at #2 immediately following the lottery, and i ended up changing my mind along the way and thinking it would be a different player anyways, so it's just the broken clock theory at work.
that said, i am really excited for this guy. i love his enthusiasm as shown in today's press conference. he had his struggles putting thoughts together in front of cameras, but it was really cool to see how (corny alert) courageous he was and is, based on his willingness to do what he can while controlling the impulse to feel self-conscious. as someone who has on occasion worked with people with special needs, that was seriously impressive to see.
and he's just a kid. if i'm not mistaken he's going to squeak by the NBA age limit by a few weeks when training camp starts, as he'll barely be 19. he's had a unique upbringing, sure, but he's taken a lot on with the help of his family and it's hard to argue with the success he's had, both as a basketball player and as a teenager. you start to learn about him and you see a career trajectory starting to unfold that has rare potential. it's hard to imagine a guy who's overcome as much as MKG is going to accept having a mediocre jump shot, much less an overall game that impacts the bobcats at least as much as it did kentucky.
i don't know, maybe the bobcats saw something along these lines when they saw how the players stacked up at #2. starting to wonder if the dunlap hire, the gordon trade, were both made, if not to directly precede drafting MKG, but with that possibility in the forefront of their minds. no doubt trade proposals were flying, but clearly they wanted MKG the most, and didn't find a route back in the lottery that still got them their player.
maybe i'm a runaway train with this guy, but it looks to me like the bobcats drafted a pretty special person in addition to a great basketball player. if i had to guess i'd say charlotte falls in love with him pretty quickly like the bobcats did.

I'll say one thing, he's the last guy I want to see on the other team in a fullcourt game of pick up ball.

I didn't know he was the fat, hairy, shirtless dude who likes to body people all day long

So rebounding would translate for T-Rob but MKG will regress? Makes perfect sense.
