Jazz perfect patner for a 3 way?

Post#1 » by habibadobe » Sat Jun 30, 2012 4:14 am

With 4 point guards at different pay levels, 1 shooting guard, 1 power forward, 1 center, all of them with expiring contracts. I could see the Jazz get involved with a trade or 2 with teams looking to balance rosters after trades or cap exceptions have been used. Not sure how much any one of these pieces will get us in a 1 for 1 trade, but as a third party we could really help other teams out and pick up something of value.

I dont really see the Jazz making a huge trade but with so many parts we could be. As for getting Mo Williams maybe the exemption could have turned into something else this summer, but they tend to hold the most value at draft or mid season and it will be gone by the trade deadline. Not to mention we kept the Lakers from getting Mo as well, and I hate them so thats a win in my book as well. I see Mo as better then Watson, Tinsly, Bell, Howard and CJ. If he takes the mins from them we are a better team. One downside is I wanted to see Burks in the combo guard off the bench role this year.

Burke absolutely should be a bencher this year. And if he's good enough everyone is expiring and he'll slip right in

Mo Williams is now also an asset. He is an 8.5M expiring contract and a decent player. He could also be moved later on for something.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.
