In the midnight hour, we cry Mo Mo Mo: Deal complete

The Los Angeles Clippers acquired Lamar Odom from the Dallas Mavericks as part of a four-team trade also involving the Utah Jazz and Houston Rockets.

The Clippers sent point guard Mo Williams to the Jazz and the draft rights to Furkan Aldemir, the Clippers’ second round selection (53rd overall) in the 2012 NBA Draft to Houston while the Jazz conveyed the draft rights of Tadija Dragicevic, Utah’s second round pick (53rd overall) in the 2008 NBA Draft to Dallas.

To complete the trade, Dallas sent the draft rights of Shan Foster, the Mavericks’ second round selection (51st overall) in the 2008 NBA Draft to the Jazz with Houston sending cash considerations to Dallas.

basically, we used the trade exception from Memo trade to acquire Mo Williams, and rights to Furkan aldemir (i think Dragicevic will never be an nba player, and Shan Foster has will hardly be; both played in italy, so i saw something close)

Aldemir is a PF-C with a knack for rebounds. Still raw, he needs at least 1-2 years more to try NBA. Anyway, this pick has some value

anyway, Foster maybe worth a look at the summer league and-or training camp.

Besides other trades, the arrival of Mo williams means the Jazz won't excercise the option on Tinsley. Last year he was a useful back-up.

I thought the Jazz were going to let Tinsley go too as well..buuuut...

The Jazz officially announced Friday they have picked up veteran point guard Jamaal Tinsley's team option for the 2012-13 season and tendered a qualifying offer to reserve forward Jeremy Evans.

Tinsley will compete with Devin Harris, Mo Williams and Earl Watson for playing time. Evans will become a restricted free agent at 10:01 p.m. Saturday and Utah can match any offer he receives.

Welcome back Tinsley! 4 point guards.. :o

Utah acquires Mo without losing any asset nor cap flexibility (Mo still expires at the and of next season). I don't know if we could have more value back with the trade exception, but arguably that whould have implied losing pick or cap flex.

Mo is a great plus for our team, and he will contribute from day one.

Love Love Love it. It always felt like Mo would be back one day. The Jazz were already one of the better fast-break teams last year, I think playing Williams and Harris together would only propel that all the more.

This also brings the Jazz better perimeter shooting and another solid veteran presence.

Gotta say, I hope we pull of at least one more trade so as not to have 4 freaking point guards.

4 point guards...... means we'll use some 2 point guard backcourt, with Harris or Mo able to play also the off-guard. Or Harris could be traded....

Good mix of young guys to build on and veterans with expiring contracts. This would make one believe that the team isn't done dealing yet. Especially as the team gets near the trading deadline this next year.

No, 4 PG's mean the Jazz are going to trade one.

For one thing they can't afford $20.5 million in PG salaries so guess who they're going to trade. Neither "starting" PG will tolerate coming off the bench in a contract year. It would diminish their value for their next contract.

Earl Watson would be the odd man out for me. Whats his contract status?

Make that 5 PG's, don't forget Blake Ahern. I think he was brought on truly as a ball handler over 2 guard.

But I'm not sure if he is already written off and gone. I do know he was signed for the season so the Jazz have some kind of rights to him ... don't they?

Very weird they extent the offer to Tinsley right after this went down with Mo. Seems to me the trading action hasn't quite stopped yet.

I like the Mo Williams pickup for the Jazz. That plus improvement from Favors and Haywood should make the team pretty tough next season.
