Courtney Lee

Post#1 » by Mr. E » Fri Jun 29, 2012 9:48 pm

The Rockets have exercised the 4.3M Qualifying Offer to Courtney Lee, officially making him a restricted free agent, giving the Rockets the right to match any deal that he signs.

The questions for Courtney Lee are now:

1) Which teams will be interested in signing him?

2) How much will he be offered?

3) What is the "walk-away" point for the Rockets? The most they will match.

4) Is he expected to be the starter next season?

All depends on what happens with Kevin Martin.

this is true. I think Martin is gone, I'm a fan of lamb and always have been but he is going to have his ups and downs even if he reaches his potential. We need to resign lee and let him start while lamb develops behind him. If players like iggy get hype because they're great team players, play great d but struggle on offense why doesn't lee? Walk away point, ehhhh I say 8 mil.....

No need to give Chicago value back on Asik.

they need to decide if they really need to match this deal.

They're already on hook for a lot of money.

Sign and trade him to Chicago for the Bobcats pick.

Will Chicago have any cap-room? and he would have to agree to Chicago's terms first. If he's offered and signs with a different team then you don't have a choice.

With both Kevin Martin and Jeremy Lamb in tow, where does Courtney Lee fit.

He would be an amazing fit on the Wolves. If we were able to get Batum we'd have around $4 mil left. We also have the MLE exception ($5 mil per). If we can dump Wes Johnson and JJ Barea along with the Memphis 1st we'd have ~$12.75 mil in cap-space. Enough to offer Lee around $6 to $7 mil per year?

Morey is a sneaky guy. I'm not sure which you guys are heading but would Morey likely match that offer?

We aren't moving Lee.

Martin or Lamb much more likely to go than Lee.

A S&T isn't happening with Chicago. Bulls can only offer Asik the MLE over the length of the deal, Houstons offer is much more lucrative and the only way Asik see that kind of money is to sign the offer sheet.

I hope Chicago matches - I'm a huge Asik fan who has been watching him since his Turkish basketball days.
