Smith to Boston?

Post#1 » by OBisHalJordan » Sat Jun 30, 2012 10:57 pm

Hi Hawks Board, Celtic fan here, I'm wondering what you all think of Smith to Boston? Over on the Celtic board a lot of people are convinced it is about to happen. I don't really see what package Boston can offer that would be better than other teams. The two packages people throw out are (1) Bass, Bradley and Melo and (2) Green, Bradley and Melo. Any of you think any of these would get it done? Do any Hawks fans think Boston has a serious chance to land Smith? Your responses are much appreciated. Thanks

I am thinking more like Bass, Bradley, Melo, Kris Joseph, and Jared Sullinger. if that is too much you can keep bradley

Boston was on his preferred list, but you have nothing that's appealing enough, unless a package involves Rondo.

Surprised at some of these responses. Trading Smoove for 2 good young prospects and a decent vet wouldn't be a bad deal IMO.

The bigger problem is that, while I like both Melo and Bradley and think they both could be nice players eventually, I don't really see either as fits here. Melo will take a few years before he's ready and Bradley would be best paired with a PG who can guard 2's. We're not really a fit for either of these situations. Sullinger is a better fit for us (instant player who can bang which should keep wear and tear off Horford) in terms of prospects.

Unless it's an overwhelming offer I suspect that Atlanta would prefer to send Josh to the West. Wouldn't want him haunting the team for years in direct competition. Also depends on other moves by us to what becomes a move.
