Pre-Riley Draft Heat vs Riley Draft Heat

Post#1 » by Heat3 » Sun Jul 1, 2012 4:08 am

Just for fun. Two teams made entirely out of Heat draft picks. One representing the pre-Riley era the other the Riley era. All players must have played for the Heat (not guys we drafted and traded away like this year). Who you got? Anyone brave enough to make a full 12 man roster for both.

Early Heat
PG: Sherman Douglas
SG: Steve Smith
SF: Glen Rice
PF: Grant Long
C: Rony Siekaly

Riley Heat
PG: Eddie House
SG: Dwyane Wade
SF: Caron Butler
PF: Michael Beasley
C: Dexter Pittman

First team is more balanced for sure, but Wade makes the difference imo, I'll take Riley's Heat.

Early Heat are much better and it's not even close.

Wasn't Kurt Thomas drafted by Pat? Also, why not Chalmers over House?

And Wayne Simien was so much more salmonella-y than Beasley, for whatever that's worth.

Career ending salmonella poisoning. True story.

On what planet is Dwyane Wade a better player than Wayne Jones?

Kurt Thomas was drafted by Dave Wohl who was sort of the interim guy running the Heat after Mickey Arison took control of the team but before Riley was hired later that summer. The Heat were coach less at the time of the draft and Whol basically hired Riley to replace him lol
