Prandelli had a terrible mistake. You can't do the three changes with 35 minutes ahead.

Spain is like that boxer who wears you down with impenetrable defense, and then punches your lights out with 2-3 surgical KO punches. EC, WC, EC - dynasty.

That being said... the Italians are cursed by Murphy's Law. Everything which can go wrong goes wrong.

Not when you are down 2-0 and your first substitution was a forced one. Hindsight is 20/20.

A little anti-climatic, but at least we have deserved champs and Italy also had a good run.

I wonder whether Italy can do the unthinkable and score on Spain.

I haven't seen a goal vs Spain in a KO match in... uh, ages?

This run by Spain is incredible..and with the team still being pretty young and the depth they possess they can easily win in Brazil as well. They are definitely one of, if not the best national team ever.

And again, another perfect pass from Xavi.

As a big Balotelli fan I hope he doesn't go out in a bad way and keeps his cool. Spain just rubbing it in now

Xavi and Iniesta should strongly consider leaving soccer and go fix the ESM. With their creavity, accuracy and hustle, Europe will be debt free in 2013.

Pretty much a no contest really.

Most of Spain's reserves could start on every other team in the tournament. Mata/Llorente/Torres/Reina/Martinez etc are brilliant players who barely got a kick in most games.

After Italy went up 1-0 in Spain's first game of the tournament, their GF/GA from then out on was 12 to 0. That's cray.
It's going to be a glorious day... I feel my luck could change

But in Spain's case, you can't separate the two. Their possession is part of their defense.

Sucks to see Pirlo, Bonucci and Balotelli cry. Too harsh for them
