if you bother to use ur brain, you will see that its not dumb. it will take a developing team about 5yrs to reach supremacy, by then Bynum is 29. Hell he plays like he is 29 now.
Don't like dumb? Ok it's the STUPIDEST Idea I've heard on this forum. Dwight is Already 27 and he is not in his prime yet. Your telling me you couldn't add some young talent around him and develop them while he plays? Have you seen Bynum's play? The guy has yet to even touch his full potential. He can be apart of a young core. It doesn't take that long for special players to develop. If they have the game, it will show for themselves. What your saying is basically be like the Sacramento Kings or GS Warriors? Great young core they have been trying to develop for the LONGEST and hasn't work it's stupid. You build around a big man and usually pieces fall into place. People don't realize the OKC method was luck and the SA method was luck (D Robinson Was Hurt when they got Timmy). You can keep a Bynum and develop a Clark or Nichalson.... you don't start from scratch when you have a young all star such as Bynum.. Dumb.
you honestly think that a team centered around bynum will beat out miami? if you wanna muddle in mediocrity and toil in rebuilding forever, then yeah, that's probably the best option for you - if you were the GM. however, the point of why we got hennigan is to break out of mediocrity and win the 'chip.

on that note, i'm glad the decision is not yours.

bynum is not a foundation piece, he is an integral part but he cannot be the focal point...

If you could pick one to be a Magic bandwagoner, would you pick Skip Bayless or Stephen A. Smith?

If we are to develope through draft and prospects and our GM is groomed for this type of developement, then by getting Bynum we will have a player who will be much older than the rest of the pack. when the rest reach their prime Bynum will be done. we need to look at what OKc had done. everyone in about the same age group. we either have to tank and make use of the picks we get in this trade and be patient. or with Bynum we stay in the 8th seed and stay a mediocre team. thats why Houstons deal was the best scenario. would give us just what we needed.

Bynum is 24. This has to be the dumbest thing I've heard.

not the smartest thing to say but his heart is in the right place.....i respect his opinion....but in a sense OKC got lucky.....who knew those guys were going to be sure things? we can tank and get high draft picks but it doesn't guarantee we get a future star out of it.......Big men are a commodity in this league...why not get the 2nd best one if the best one wants out?

I just posted what you said actually. Bynum is a young all star already who is not even fully developed and has not had the opportunity to PLAY HIS FULL game. This guy said "He'll be playing how he plays now at 29" thats crap. Bynum has no room in the lakers offense and is the third option. make bynum the first option on any team and he will dominate even more than Dwight Howard. It's just silly to say that you'd pass up on him to rebuild like OKC did? I said it was luck too. Nobody (Not even Seattle at the time) knew they would get that lucky. Hell it was only supposed to be Durrant and Jeff green. They realized the draft didn't give them their whole set up, thus them recruiting perkins a CENTER. You don't pass up on centers in this league today.

Sam Shipley ‏@samshipley5
NBA NEWS: The reports that the Sixers have contacted the Magic are TRUE. It is nothing more than early discussion at this point, and....

CON'T: he didnt have antything on the players who would be sent. He did say with the new CBA, Dre would 99% have to be in that deal (salary)

CON'T: So as of now don't look anything more into it then talks, but its a good sign. Ill keep you updated when I hear more.

LOL. That's great. Just...priceless.

I especially like the impact on Houston: "With this trade you have decreased this team's projected wins by 35."

Isnt much of a change from who we're dealing with now

Which isn't exactly a good thing is it?

Dwight just flat out doesn't want to be here anymore. I don't really mind his prima donna attitude because he pretty much is the franchise at this point in time, but the fact he constantly threw the organization under the bus tells me he needs to go. As long as Bynum is putting up 20/10 as the main guy I don't think he would have a reason to be immature.

I too think Bynum as the focal point would put up big numbers.....23/12/2 sounds about right....he wants to take the next step and be the man.....He's been fairly healthy this past season and hopefully that's a good sign.....maybe the fact that he could be the man down here in Orlando could essentially make him grow up a bit....there is a lot of responsibility and pressure coming here to fill Dwight's shoes and maybe surpass him and do what he couldn't......

Yup. Bynum looked as healthy as ever. he also is calm when he plays offense and doesn't hesitate as much as dwight. It comes a lot easier and he would have that potential to blossom here with out a kobe.
