He is saying Dwight should not have given heads up in advance, like Carmelo, he should have just done it the way Lebron did.

Either that or trade him to Toronto or someplace he would hate. Help him ruin his reputation.

Trading Howard to GSW for this package would likely be a great deal for Orlando. Howard would not be projected to resign, and the Warriors picks thus are likely high lottery in 2013 and 2015.

Can anyone run me up to speed on the major details of what has happened? All I've heard is that Dwight requested a trade (no shocker and not mad about it if true) on Friday, and he also is accusing the Magic of blackmailing him and is looking to pursue legal action to void his opt-in (dafuq?)
You pretty much have it. Also, story was out from hoopsworld that Dwight and meer got in a scuffle that had to be broken by teammates. This occurred towards the end of the season. Oh and Dwight was whining to Jarrod about sources lying.

I hate to say I told you so....
but I told everyone we didn't know the true motive behind Dwight waiving his ETO.
I don't have a problem with him wanting out, thats fine, he gave us 8 great years. But the way he put our franchise into a limbo for a year and a half, when we could have been looking at better trade offers, was very very wrong.

I agree that trading for 2014 and 2016 would be better. Trading D12 we would tank this year, so we get a top pick in 2013, this pick doesnt take us anywhere, but in 2014 we would have 2 Top 5 picks, we get a lot better and in 2016 we get even better with another top pick from GS.
All of these tops picks would be in rookie salary in 2016 offseason, so we spend a lot of bucks and get a 5th MAX element to fill our starting lineup with the top pick in 2016 from GS.
So we would have 4 Top5 picks + MAX from FA + 2 1st round picks (Magic in 2015 and 2016).
In 2016 Heat would be gone (too old), so we would be the real contender in East to fight against Thunder.

Chris Brussard is saying, the Nets are not going to be able to count on Dwight words as he signed the Opt in, and they are going forward with their plan with JJ. they cant wait for him till next year.

So maybe we do need to drag this out just so the Nets will continue and trade for JJ and then be out of the running for Dwight

He only did this (opted in) because he didnt want to be shipped to a team other than the Nets at the deadline, also I wish the Front Office would have pushed to meet with Dwight before the Draft, having 3 of Houstons picks would have been nice.

I feel bad for the rooks today. No one is going to ask these guys any questions. Its all going to be D 12 related. This day should be about them.

You know what, I want to see the x-rays and medical reports from Dwights supposed injury now. I am starting to doubt everything about this guy. How do we know that Dwight didn't just give up on his team right before the playoffs?

I already thought of that, but I looked through the Toronto roster and realized there was a reason they suck so bad...nobody we want, really.
