I know I don't post in here often, but I follow this forum and each thread everyday. And i'm sorry if this has already been talked about, but do you think that the nets are potentially trying to add JJ and \ gave gwallace a deal so they could potentially swing them to us for dwight and hedo so salaries can match? I don't believe anything Broussard says about the nets giving up. Why would the nets come out and openly say oh we don't take your word dwight after what you did with the ETO, when they are the only team hes so hellbent on playing for. There has to be some kind of mutual dialogue between Dwight, Fegan, Ferry, King, and of course Henny to try to make something happen, and i'm sure talks didn't just start friday.

Teams can't SnT a player to another team if that player did not play for them in the previous season. Nets could trade Wallace to us, but not Joe Johnson.

That said, Wallace at 4/40 is almost as bad of a contract as Hedo at 3/35. Wallace is no longer an asset. He's an overpaid past-his-prime player on a team who had to overpay him drastically to keep him. Gerald Wallace is making more than THREE times as much as Andre Miller, with arguably less of a court impact. Think about that.

dwight for gwallace and jj? so essentially we'd be trading dwight for one bad contract and one albatross contract. i doubt it. we don't have otis anymore.

but yea reading what you said, you make sense about wallace falling off. 2/3 years ago, he would have been a perfect fit next to dwight, but at this point we need to just go young and start fresh. Shred as much unneccessary cap space as we can

Maybe. But what trade assets do the Nets have that we or anyone would want, especially if they trade their entire bench for Joe Johnson's albotross contract?

The Nets simply don't have the assets to acquire Dwight Howard. He might (will) get traded, but I cannot imagine a circumstance under which it is to Brooklyn.

thanks.

This guy can be as competent as Otis Smith for all we know, but just hearing him speak puts me at ease.

in my opinion, we should just trade Dwight for some talent and a first round pick (if they have 2 it would be even sweeter) to a team that is almost certain to miss the playoffs even with dwight. This way we can tank, which we most likely will, and try to solidify our chances at Shabazz Muhammad. win/win for us?

whatever team we trade Dwight, we need to get their 2014 pick. That may be after the season they potentially play without Howard.

You're right. We want their unprotected 2014 pick and unprotected 2013 pick.

I do think Howard ultimately re-ups with whichever team we trade him to, unless it's someone like Golden State. Brooklyn WILL exhaust their financial resources to keep Deron Williams around. It will no longer be an option for Dwight, unless he's willing to sign at a severely reduced rate (and he's not).

When that option is no longer on the table, I think we see Adidas push Dwight to whatever big market can afford him, and there's a very strong possibility that will be where is already is. This has to be in the back of Mitch Kupchack and Daryl Morey's minds as they piece together offers this week.

a) we cant get 2013 and 2014... we can get 2013 and 2015, or 2014 and 2016. cant trade back to back first rounders, unless it's on draft night

b) im all for tanking. im just hoping to be entertained by a perimeter player that can score the ball
