They should have dealt his ass to Houston on draft night with a bunch of our bad contracts for their draft picks and we could have rebuilt with a bunch of solid mid-firsts. We could have even gone in on Sac's pick.

Meanwhile this prick has absolutely killed any leverage the Magic with this whole "I'll only sign with the Nets" charade.

If the Magic end up with Lopez and Brooks considering what the Jazz, Hornets and Nuggets got for their respective superstars I don't know if I can be a fan of this franchise anymore.

That was a funny interview when that lady asked about Dwight Howard. Wasn't that the same reporter who did the fake phone call question about BVW? Sounded like her.

If Kobe with Bynum AND Gasol can't get past the Thunder, do you really think that a guy like Ellis with Bynum would get us championships ? Take the Houston package (Lowry/Kmart/White/Jones/Lamb) As it would help us get youth, and the PG on the best contract in the NBA. Tank for a year, get Nerlens Noel, get another top 10 pick, and let them develop correctly as we create a great contending team, through the draft. I am confident that Hennigan will go ahead and build through the draft. If Houston doesn't offer this package, the GSW one isn't that bad either. Harrison Barnes and Klay Thompson are great young building blocks, trade Bogut for more youth and we're set to go.

I here you out on that. However, I also don't think rebuilding thru the draft is ever a sure thing. How players pan out is oftentimes a crap shoot. Some teams get lucky and land a great player like OKC or CHI, and some teams get Beasley or Darko.

My line of thinking in working to get Bynum is viewing his potential from where he is now. I think as a very young veteran with tons of playoff experience, he still has lots of room to grow and become the player Dwight isn't, with a refined offensive game and decent ability to rebound. He's only 23 and I think if pushed and placed around the right veteran players, in a scheme centered around him, instead of Kobe, I think he can mature and become a leader of a championship squad. Especially with Brian Shaw at the helm, who has already worked with Bynum before.

If Bynum can become a great player in this league, which I believe he can, then we've got a dominant center to build around via free agency to complement him. If Hennigan is going to look for "player development", what better place to start than Andrew Bynum at age 23?

That is an awesome statement by the rooks. Even they are not sure they want Howard here lol.

I think I would be ok with O'Quinn starting if we had a strong enough PG to control the game

Im right there with you, but for more reasons than just that

1 - Hes an immature piece of **** and a poor sport. I will never respect or cheer for someone who blatantly tries to injure people by elbowing them in midair just because his team is losing (did it to JJ Barea, Michael Beasley and Gerald Wallace, so its not like it was an isolated, one time thing out of frustration)

2 - Dont want any part of a guy that laughs at his teammates or laughs when they lose.

3 - I just dont think hes that good. He will never be THE GUY on a championship caliber team, and more likely will be a 20/10 guy on a 35-40 win team

I really don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that the Nets are moving on from Dwight. Why create a circus around their team all next year? Teams and executives have seen how this guy operates. He's as fickle as they come and isn't the strongest of locker room leaders either. I could completely see the Nets walking away from that idea unless Dwight is presented on a platter to them. They don't have time to play with his games. They'd be better off re-signing Lopez, trading for Joe, and signing a decent PF and letting D-Will run the show.

I don't believe all this recent crap with Dwight, D Will is almost certain to go to Dallas. IF/when he does, it make ZERO sense for Dwight to want to go to NJ.

Dwight needs to fire his agent, play this upcoming season in Orlando and give Rob a chance to build around him.

Imagine if D-Will walks to Dallas. Or if the Nets retain him, trade for Joe, and re-sign Lopez to an $11 mill+ deal.

Whatcha gonna do then, Dwight? It'd be perfect.

Report: Hill signs five-year extension with Pacers

Marc J. Spears ‏@SpearsNBAYahoo
Sixers guard Jrue Holiday added to USA select team roster. Holiday also is seeking a max contract extension from Sixers, source tells Yahoo!

Is anyone else appalled by how much money is being thrown around this offseason? Hibbert getting a max offering and Batum getting $44/4yrs are just a few that stick out to me.

Late to the party... just got done watching the shortened press conference...Dwight is gone imo... I like the rookies though.

If we have to trade him I`ll go with the Rockets, why:

I don`t want Bynum, an injured Kendrick Perkins contained Andrew Bynum. A core of Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol and Bynum(better that we will have in years) got swept twice in a row, bringing Andrew Bynum to this team will only ensure mediocrity, also his pick and roll defense is horrible.Next year he will demand a huge contract; he could be the next Eddy Curry and after enduring Grant Hill I would avoid Bynum at all cost.

Brook Lopez is due a new contract, and big men are getting paid I`m not going to commit $50 millions on him and his recent injury. Marshon Brooks is an absolute ball-hog. Rob should have met Howard before the draft, we could have traded him that day but with Dwight and Rob recent comments Howard`s value somewhat decreased.

I thought the Magic should chance it like that, but that leak about the fight with Jameer is telling. He's checked out of Orlando and doesn't have a good relationship with teammates. Dwight doesn't want to be in Orlando, and the best chance for a championship isn't on the top of his priorities.

I don't understand the deals either. Any of them. Gerald Wallace in NJ, too. Nash 3/36. Wow. KG's deal. Wow. The backloaded contract for Asik. Wow.

I just love that we had a lockout all last year where the billionaires told the millionaires they made too much money, then we come back and have contracts like this. This is why i sided with the players.

Bad deals are always handed out at the beginning of free agency. It's not unique to this season. Purse strings will tighten in the next couple weeks.
