A part of me wants to see Mike Miller return. I like the way he rebounds and shoots the 3 when healthy. Our focus should be on getting a center but that's not likely so our only hope is if Pittman develops. Riley said he's hoping for Pitt to develop and be able to contribute this upcoming season.

I don't understand why we don't go for a guy like Anthony Randolph who has proven when he gets consistent minutes actually produces. He could start at C or PF and is long and athletic enough to guard smaller players while still providing necessary rim protection, plus he has good touch around the basket and a mid range game.

We got shooters on the bench. Miller (when healthy, yes I know, an oxymoron), JJ, Battier, developing Harris, and Chalmers.

I know Pat likes his shooters and all, but for some reason, I think we have to go after Camby harder than Allen now that the opportunity presents itself. Boston doubled their fricken offer for Allen in an attempt to get him back and all, and Memphis is paying him the full MLE with a legit role to fill since Mayo is leaving.

Plus, Camby wants to play for a contender, even though Houston is still his #1 choice. I think we should switch priorities.

If Houston gets Asik why would he go back there anyway?

If Camby wants the full 3 mil extension Riles needs to turn his attention elsewhere. Miller's never gonna be 100% here. Ray or Terry should be No. 1 priorities for the scoring relief, then see if you can get another good perimeter defender like Grant Hill for the min. Picking up a center would be ideal but not the full 3 mil for a 38 year old Camby. Not when you can get 2 quality players instead

Chris Tomasson

Sources say Marcus Camby has interest in Heat but his first choice remains returning to Houston. Would want $3 million exception from Heat, so they couldn't sign both Ray Allen & Camby. Sources say if Rockets have a good offer, Camby could return regardless of whether Rockets get Omer Asik. Camby could split center minutes with Asik & mentor him. Camby, 38, wants a 2- or 3-year contract. Believes can play 3 more years. Heat first looking at Allen but could turn to Camby if Allen back to Boston.

Are you forgetting that Shane Battier is on the team?

I haven't watched him play much in a long time. Basically, only when the Heat play his team.

Does he suck now or what? Cause it seems like he would be a great playoff Center for us, reducing his minutes in reg season.

Hill would make this team even more lethal defensively, he can guard 2-4. He's the consummate professional (ala OG Juwan) He's always been a favorite of mine I'd just love to have him on the team.

As for Camby, no I didnt watch him last year..which is why I asked. I dont think anybody really watched him play yet we're acting like he'd be the 2nd coming if he signs.

Our starting 5 has a hole at Center. We already have our starting PG, SG, SF, and PF. We have no Center.

Even if Camby went down, then we would just go back to our championship team small ball lineup with Shane Battier at SF and Bosh at C........

we really, really need a big man down low. Really badly. We already have enough perimeter players, and finding more is much easier than finding a Center. I really don't care if Camby is 38 yrs old..... reduce his minutes in the reg season to save his legs and keep him fresh, but come playoff time, our crunch time winning lineup would be :

PG - Chalmers
SG - Wade
SF - LeBron
PF - Bosh
C - Camby

dude... we need a Center.

Even at his advanced age, Camby has lead the NBA in Total Rebound % the past 3 seasons. A lineup with Camby, Bosh, LeBron would dominate the glass.

Rio/Cole
Wade/Miller/Harris
James/Battier/Jones
Bosh/Haslem/Varnado
Camby/Joel/Pittman

I can live with that :D

Camby averaged 9.3 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game for Houston in 23 mins. He would really fill a need.

I would give him the mini MLE if Ray says no.

We should be saying F to Ray and going after Camby right now. We don't need Ray more than we need Camby.

Rio/Cole
Wade/Miller/Harris
James/Battier/Jones
Bosh/Haslem/Varnado
Camby/Joel/Pittman

Look at that roster. Come on. No more being the smaller team every series.

If its true the Celtics are offering Ray 2/12 mil while were offering 3/9 ?

Camby makes the most sense since he is a need
