so we added podolski and giroud so far. i think we need a left back and to keep benayoun for midfield depth because someone is bound to get injured.

Kolo Toure is expected to leave Lan City this summer... I would bring him in as a replacement for Djourou if possible.

http://robinvanpersie.com/2012/07/04/up ... -the-fans/

This is an update for the fans about my current situation. I have kept quiet all this time out of respect and loyalty for the club and as agreed with Mr. Gazidis and Mr. Wenger, but since there is so much speculation in the media, I think it is fair for you guys to know what’s really going on at the moment.

As announced earlier this year I had a meeting with the Boss and Mr. Gazidis after the season. This was a meeting about the club’s future strategy and their policy. Financial terms or a contract have not been discussed, since that is not my priority at all.

I personally have had a great season but my goal has been to win trophies with the team and to bring the club back to its glory days. Out of my huge respect for Mr. Wenger, the players and the fans I don’t want to go into any details, but unfortunately in this meeting it has again become clear to me that we in many aspects disagree on the way Arsenal FC should move forward.

I’ve thought long and hard about it, but I have decided not to extend my contract. You guys, the fans, have of course the right to disagree with my view and decision and I will always respect your opinions.

I love the club and the fans, no matter what happens. I have grown up and became a man during my time with Arsenal FC. Everybody at the club and the fans have always supported me over the years and I have always given my all (and more) on and off the pitch. I am very proud of being part of this fantastic club for the last 8 years.

As soon as Mr. Gazidis is back from his 2-week holiday in America further meetings will follow and I will update you if and when there are more developments.

I wonder where RVP will go and if Arsenal will try to bring in a star striker to replace him

Never-reliable Ian McGarry says RVP to City is already a done deal.

City has Mario, Aguero, and maybe Teves. Why go after RVP? I know Mario and Teves are unreliable, but I still think they have too many strikers

Yuck...I feel sick. I still think we'll be a better team next year than we were this past season, in spite of losing RVP. We need to find someone to take RVP and we need to try to sign Walcott long-term.

none they just bought giroud and podolski and that would be their excuse to not replacing him. i'll bet the bank arsenal wouldnt spend to replace RVP and they'll hope for the next RVP , cesc, nasri to step up to be sold.

Really hard being an arsenal fan right now , watch all your stars go and all of them leave. The next sheep in line? theo ... then wilshere then chamberlain ... arsenals become pathetic no ambition.

EDIT: btw i really want to know how much RVP cared about the clubs direction(even tho i dont agree wit it as well) when he spending his time on the injury table when arsenal could have used to him when we were good ....

to top it all off , barca is chasing vermaelen ... who happens to be the next in line for the captainship of doom... just give denilson or squilacci or chamakh the captainship so they can be gone from my sights

i kinda hope he goes there, and maybe it'll end up like nasri. i firmly believe that aguero is better and i think carlos is better also.

Crappy situation. Losing best player and captain in consecutive years. Have to wonder how much Robin really cares about the club/fans to release such a divisive statement. Already hearing that he released the statement in order to force te club into selling him when they were unwilling.

Wonder what kind of message this sends to Wilshere, Walcott etc. They are seeing 3 best players leave in 3 seasons.
