If Hawks-Nets deal goes through, Nets are no longer in race for Dwight Howard. Cap room for D12 will be gone.

Hawks trading Johnson for nothing... guess they really want that monster contract out of there so they can start over. This really sucks because it may also mean atl is ready to trade josh smith...

Nets will send expiring contracts and 1R pick to ATL. Nets get to keep Marshon Brooks, Gerald Green and their own 1R pick

Yep. Less of a threat to happen since he has expressed no desire to play there BUT things change and beggars can't be choosers. Could make him staying put to whatever team he is already with more likely it seems. You never know though if JSmoove is willing to stay there.

Can't Dwight still walk to the Nets next year if they don't sign Dwill and he goes to Dallas?

Sources confirm Hawks and Nets have agreed to terms on deal to send Joe Johnson to Nets. Deal contingent on Deron Williams staying w/Nets

I'm not sure which would be funnier - this deal going down, or DWill saying he's still leaving, and all that hard work is down the tubes.

Nets would be left with a core of Lopez, Wallace, and Brooks. Assuming they resign Lopez of course.

The #Atlanta #Hawks now will have 2 of Dwight Howard's best friends in the #NBA: Josh Smith and Anthony Morrow. #coincidence?

Lets see.

JJ makes $19.5
Deron gets $18 mil starting
Wallace just got $10 mil per
Brooke - $4.2 mil qualifying offer, but Nets could refuse to match or trade.
Outlaw - $4mil per
Marshawn - $1.2

The Top (3) make $47.5 and that would leave about $12 mil free for Free Agents and Dwight Howard. If the Nets get JJ, they are out of the Dwight chase unless the deal is Dwight and JRich for Gerald Wallace, Marshawn and Outlaw and Brooke.

But, there probably will be multiple teams involved.

Upside: JSmoove wants out.
Downside: It's Dwight's hometown.

I don't think Wallace can be part of any deal until December 15th...

Couldn't Dwill sign for less? If he was really interested in bringing Dwight. Not that the leftover pieces they'd need to move would be worth a trade. They'd have to hope Orlando was really desperate and that the Nets could move Lopez, Wallace, and Outlaw in a 3-way that got Orlando something they liked. Not happening. But if Dwill signs for cheap they could get Dwight next year in free agency.

I'm calling it right now.

We'll be hearing a lot of rumors about Horford for Dwight soon.

League source tells Y! that Joe Johnson deal now likely "happens with or without Deron." Nets officials are meeting with Williams right now.

I've got to hand it to ATL, they just played a smart move. They now have Josh Smith and Anthony Morrow, two of Dwight's friends that he's requested to play with and they unloaded their worst contract onto the Nets which now takes them out of the dwightstakes. Hawks can now sign him in summer of 2013. Genius plan.

Nets, of course, would've preferred to get Dwight, but Magic refused to engage in trade talks. Source: 'They didn't want to dance with us.'

HENNY FTW
