Brooklyn is scary

Post#1 » by LAWKK » Mon Jul 2, 2012 9:51 pm

Looks like they just went all in on this deal for Joe Johnson eating his contract.

If they can resign Deron and can swing a package of Lopez and others for Dwight...that is a very good core 3 to build around. Depending on how quickly they can build chemistry, I'd say that is easily our ECF match up.

you serious? Miami just beat OKC, who everyone said was the second coming of the '91 Bulls. We fear no team.

I think Dwight to the nets is over. They don't have the assets to sign Deron, trade for Joe, and trade for Dwight. The Magic aren't going to want whatever pitiful scraps the nets would try to offer.

Aside from Joe being INSANELY OVERPAID, talent alone you cannot deny that the guy can play. Every person in the world knew his role as "the guy" in Atlanta wasn't the right fit for him. Having Deron and possibly Dwight would allow him to be 3rd option. The guy consistently puts up between 18 and 22 pts on about 45% shooting.

If this is the only thing Brooklyn does and cannot seem to resign Deron or swing a trade for Dwight, then I agree with you that this is a bad move. But if all the pieces fall into place, they immediately become very serious contenders.

Are you on drugs? This trade all but eliminates them from the Dwight Howard sweepstakes. Deron and Howard on the same team would have been scary. Deron, JJ, Gerald Wallace, Lopez and the Bosnian kid are probably the worst defensive/rebounding team in the history of the NBA.

...What won't be much a part of the Nets' presentation to Williams: How they'll continue to try and pry All-Star center Dwight Howard out of Orlando. The deal for Johnson – along with a $40 million extension for Gerald Wallace and and an eventual $50 milllion-plus deal for center Brook Lopez – almost assure the Nets will be out of the Howard derby.

Nets without D12 is just a good team, a borderline contender.

To be a real contender against a healthy Miami team you need to be able to abuse Miami's weak frontcourt. Even Indiana with Hibbert/West wasn't able to do that with Bosh out. Lopez is no better than Bosh.

They will be better than Toronto and probably the Bobcats. Do not fear this transaction...

Like others have said, no way Dwight goes to Brooklyn now with JJ there. No capspace.

That Gerald Wallace Trade really screwed the Nets over. Not only did they give up the chance at signing Dwight, but they lost young talent. Gerald Wallace is a pretty good player, but he might have killed the franchise's championship aspirations. They could have possibly traded down to Houston so they could draft Drummond.

PG: Williams
SG: Lamb/Brooks
SF: Batum
PF: Humphries/Royce White
C: Dwight (next year)

They could have been a lot scarrier(sp).

On a side note. I wouldn't mind Gerald Green coming of the bench for the min.

What if Deron didn't sign with the Nets? Could they then go after Dwight?

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA_

Multiple league sources can confirm @Chris_Brousard report. Deron Williams will sign a 5 year deal to stay w/the Nets. Opt out after year 3.

You're right. Brooklyn is scary.

so its Deron/JJ/Lopez = their Big 3

Heat got this

I guess they got Wallace so he could defend Lebron, he too small though

They move on top of NY/Bulls IMO

Joe Johnson sucks ass

Dwight is a drama queen BUT he gives us trouble always.

Deron, he can get hot from 3 and whatnot, he's a good PG too.

But scary? We could take them out in 5 games if we meet up lol. Especially if our 3 point shooting stays hot.

wait I thought they couldn't get Howard anymore without losing Deron or JJ

If their big 3 ends up being Deron/JJ/Howard

Houston we have a problem

Deron/JJ will not work very well. Both are ball dominate.

I will take Wade over Deron, LeBron over JJ, and Bosh over Lopez.
