Avery + new math equals a championship caliber team

Assuming this proposed trade is complete--do you all agree this will be the best team he has coached?

I tend to think so. I know a lot of fans get the feeling that Joe Johnson and Gerald Wallace are on the wrong side of 30. If you're a basketball junkie it's hard not to be excited about what the Nets are currently trying to put together.

Williams- Tyshawn Taylor (possibly Ason Kidd).
Johnson- Brooks (with his rookie season behind him)
Wallace- Green (Gerald 2.0 averaged 13 points off the bench).
PF?
Lopez- WIlliams

If somehow a trade for D12 happens obviously the possibilities to compete for championships is limitless. However--a healthy Brook Lopez would be copasetic and would probably be a better fit than anyone not named Dwight Howard.

All this is based on the presumption that Deron returns of course with all trades and monies being finalized. If that scenario takes place there will be hope for a bright future going forward. How can any fan not be excited about all of this?

As for Avery- if he does not get this team in a position of contending for at least top 2-4 spot in the east every year there would be a problem. With that said- I believe in Avery and with a probable aforementioned lineup the possibilities are invigorating for BROOKLYN fans to say the least.

Thoughts?
OKC Thunder fan, too.

assuming health, should contend for a top 4 seed. with rose out, they can beat any team that isnt miami. of course, it wouldnt be any kind of shock to lose to a team that isnt miami either.

I'm guessing he meant Sheldon on a minimum deal?

i dont mind seeing what we can do this season with a healthy brook lopez...

his game is solid, i always thought he could have a tim duncan-like impact if he worked on his rebounding and footwork.

guy coming off an injury goes and drops 38 on the mavs last season and we beat the mavs, even with all the other injuries we had. of course if dwight comes, you will not hear any arguments out of me, but i think lopez can be that guy and i be willing to hold off on a trade to see what we can this season
