BIOGRAPHY

Orlando Magic center Dwight David Howard Jr. is not just a basketball player. He is one of the most charismatic and thus popular basketball player on earth. His muscular physique resembles a 6’11 bronze statue of Apollo. His resume belies his 24 years of age while reading like the first chapter of a sports monopoly. The home grown Atlanta, Georgian has pillared his brand on ferocious dunks and electric smiles.

this is clearly a man who knows humility.

No offence Mod..but we have all seen Dwight Howard, some of us probably with his shirt off. For the flack some posters get for starting a new thread and it getting locked, does this really call for a new topic and not to be locked? Just to point out Dwights similar chisled body to a Greek God?

Holding his gm, and the team that he grew to stardom with, is hardly endearing nor should it be tolerated. He decided to opt-in to his contract and now the Magic are financially handcuffed as he is holding the cap space that they could be luring top free agents with. Not only that, but their return from anybody other than the Nets is going to be paltry due to Dwights public claim that he will only sign with Brooklyn next summer. How can the NBA police this kind of behavior? There has to be some sort of recourse for these actions.

Yeah, he's a 7 footer with incredible athleticism, great one on one and help defender with developing post moves. I guess you'd call him skilled. Some peoples kids....

Not a single post player today can match Dwight Howard’s dominance. Houston Rockets center and Chinese superstar Yao Ming has failed to near his productivity.

I guess that makes up for Yao destroying Dwight every time they went head-to-head.

Yeah, he's a 7 footer with incredible athleticism, great one on one and help defender with developing post moves. I guess you'd call him skilled. Some peoples kids....

He has no offense! He's literally fed everything offensively otherwise he struggles. In the Finals when he went up against Bynum he got owned and proved he had no post game. He's used to just beating every other big man because he's so much bigger than them. He couldn't do that to Bynum. So a few summers ago Dwight goes Hakeem and gets better post game, but it's still seriously limited. In the words of the great Stoudamire he's a little offensively limited. The thing is though he's dominant defender and even that he struggles a lot with stretch fours like Bosh and Bargnani and bigger bodied Centres like Bynum. When you say incredibly skilled it means he doesn't rely on athleticism and that's clearly not true. Take away Dwight's incredible hops and you have a guy who can't do a whole lot. No real offensive game, no above average post game. So he is hardly all that skilled. Once Dwight’s hops go, so does his game. This isn't Shaq. Before you say oh kids again, I should tell I'm not even close to being one.

Your memory's a little faulty.

Dwight didn't have great numbers, but he hardly got owned. Bynum averaged 6 ppg/4 rpg in the Finals against Dwight.

I was talking about Dwight's offence. He struggled massively in that series against Bynum and Gasol, particularly Bynum. I wasn't saying that Bynum owned him offensively but he definately did defensively. The Lakers front court kept him away from the basket and forced him to shoot and we all know he can't that was my point.

Sorry for the bump, but just wanted to let you guys know that you're referenced in a Grantland article.

http://www.grantland.com/blog/the-trian ... directions

It's normally silly to attach much symbolic importance to any one thing among the hundreds that happen in an NBA game, but it's irresistible here. Dwight Howard, once the league's greatest defender and rebounder, wants absolutely no part of the fight LeBron James takes to him. Howard hopes to earn the rebound by simply planting himself below the hoop under the assumption that this alone will be enough. James darts right around him for inside position, and he doesn't stop once there. He rams his back into Howard's chest, uprooting the man whose official Web site once boasted "resembles a 6-11 bronze statue of Apollo," and follows it up with two hard elbows to Howard's chest. And Howard just accepts all of this before meekly retreating on defense.

Apologies to the mods if this bump isn't allowed. I checked your forum to see if anyone else saw this but I might have missed something. If that's the case, sorry again.

For anyone who has the patience to deal with a lot of immature posts, this is definitely the best place to get all your basketballs, Raptors-related or otherwise.

We got pickles.
