I think what Ric meant was that whatever team Dwight gets traded to could later on trade him to the NETS or over the off season for their assets, BUT NOT THE MAGIC. ORL will not listen to NETS about their assets, its been reported by two reporters.

Not saying that this is what i would do, but you can litterally unload your entire otis roster ($38,853,385 going out) on Dallas only taking back $5,503,833 in salary.

Dwight Howard 19.5
Glen Davis 6.4
Jason Richardson 5.8
for
As many unprotected 1st Rounders as you can possibly get (looking for 4,5 or 6)
GF Vince Carter ($2,000,000 if waive now)
G Roddy Beabois ($2,227,333 exp 2013)
G Dominique Jones ($1,276,500 exp 2013)

Dallas absorbs Duhon into exception (Chandler)
Dallas absorbs QRich into exception (Brewer)
Dallas absorbs Clark into exception (Fernandez)

MAGIC send out $38,853,385 (you could waive/match/renounce or keep Redick/Anderson or Nelson)
MAVS send to Magic: $5,503,833 (nothing owed past THIS season, besides Nicholson,O'Quinn and Hedo's 6m after waiving him next offseason)

We would have like 18 Million on cap for THIS YEAR. About 8 million next year (minus your draft picks/free agent signings.).

You litterally could start from COMPLETELY BARE roster.

that's understandable, thanks. (although, if i get Martin and Lamb from Houston, I flip KMart for more pieces at deadline and still keep JJ. Dude is ultimate pro)

Funny no one has offered Javale McGee the max....
Why did the wizards break that up, my favorite part of the day was waiting for SVP show to do Wizards daily.

Now would you rather let Dwight walk and have almost 40 million in cap space to spend as you please, or overpay a scrub like Lopez to build your team around just so you can get Brooks and some garbage late round picks.

The choice is obvious.

So, the Scrub one?

Wait, is this a trick question?

Honestly I think Rob's game plan is to sit pat and wait till 2013 and sell Dwight then on getting him another star and some nice pieces. If not then he can do what he has been doing throughout his career and build through the draft.

Dwight showed his true colors. He went too far this time, I can't root for him anymore. He played his last game in Orlando, we have to trade him.

WE can already get 1 good player; clear off a combo of Turk/JRich/Davis, and we'll be able to get 2 good players.

I think Dwight has made it clear that he wants out why are people still trying to grasp at straws? wait him out a year and see if he changes his mind? yeah okay....good luck with that....I want him as long as he wants to be here....but he's made it VERY clear he doesn't want to be here.....or just let him walk and use the capspace as long as he's gone.....two tears in a bucket phuck it...lol

Why not? How much worse could it get? It's worth the millions Devos would make, if it happened of course, all that stuff would be forgotten if he resigned with a true contender in '13

Why not? Is it really affecting your well being? I'm sure RDV wants nothing but the best opportunity to win a championship and Dwight is his quickest option to that goal.

You know what I hate about this whole drama and the rumors? It always about Dwight and what he wants. He's always trying to play the victim card in all of his interviews. I'm tired of it man. Who cares what Dwight wants? Who cares what the Hawks,Nets, Lakers, and Rockets want?

For once, can the national media talk about what would be in our best interest?

I know, I know. It wouldn't produce good ratings for them.

If only Dwight took an offer from China during the lockout.

But it will affect his teammates and it's just not good for team chemistry.

yeah..he should be getting marvin williams and joe johnson....there's a reason why OKC/SA are always patient....and why their always good.

Or they could be like the Hawks dumping salary....

And the Magic aren't OKC/SA. They're a capped out 6th seeded team with their best player demanding a trade. It's easy to be patient when you don't have these problems.

It's not as easy as saying "be like the hawks and dump salary!"

Ferry found the one idiot in the league who would give up expiring assets for that poison pill of a Joe Johnson contract, because he IS a name. They need to put people in the seats at The Barq. Who would we have been able to trade in that deal? Hedo/Rich/BBD, for the contracts ATL got? No way the Nets would have done that knowing it would help ORL keep Dwight. Henny is sitting back, Ferry lucked out that King is an idiot and fell in love with the name of Joe Johnson.

Man, a lot of you can't let him go. He doesn't want be a member of the Magic. He has asked to be traded twice. Of course RDV wants to win a championship but I guarantee he doesn't want to do it with a guy that has zero respect for the organization. Is he a great player? Of course he is but it's over. Keeping him through this season would be asinine.
